Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber having high strength and toughness and low shrinkage and suitable as a rubber-reinforcing fiber, by immersing a specific undrawn polyester fiber in a solvent which does not dissolve but swells the fiber and drawing and heat-treating the fiber under specific condition. CONSTITUTION:An undrawn fiber of a polyester (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate) having an intrinsic viscosity of >=0.85 (preferably >=0.91) and a birefringence of (preferably ) is immersed in a solvent which does not essentially dissolve the polyester but can swell the polyester (e.g. formic acid, DMF, methyl ethyl ketone or diphenyl) at >=20 deg.C for 0.1sec-6min at definite length. The immersed fiber is successively drawn and heat-treated at a drawing temperature of 20-110 deg.C (preferably 50-100 deg.C) and a heat-treatment temperature of 180-260 deg.C to obtain the objective fiber.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain filament yarns having mechanical properties withstanding the practical use, by regulating the intrinsic viscosity, length of a heat insulating zone and distance from a spinneret to the inlet of a heating zone in solidifying extruded filaments once and hot-drawing the solidified filaments in the heating zone. CONSTITUTION:The intrinsic viscosity of a polymer is adjusted to 0.66-0.75, and the length (L1) of a heat insulating zone from the a spinneret surface to the blowing surface of cooling air is adjusted to 7-22cm. The distance (L2) from the spinneret to the inlet of the heating zone is adjusted to 1-2m. The extruded polyester filaments are cooled and solidified, introduced into the heating zone, e.g. a heating cylinder 1, hot-drawn the heating zone, passed through an oiling device 7 and taken off at

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain yarn having high strength by one process, by extruding a polymer from a spinneret into a spinning column of pressurized atmosphere set directly under it, solidifying it under cooling, pulling out the solidified polymer from the spinning column, drawing it under heating in a normal-pressure atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic polymer capable of being subjected to melt spinning is extruded in a molten state from the spinneret 7 into the spinning column S of pressurized atmosphere set directly under it, cooled and solidified, and pulled out from the sealing part 24 at the bottom of the spinning column S to an atmosphere at normal pressure. Then, the polymer is introduced into the heating column 35 and drawing under heating. It is pulled by the godet rollers 30a and 30b, and wound around the winder 33. When the polymer has high melt viscosity, preferably the heating column 8 is set at the outer periphery directly under the spinneret 7. Preferably the pressure in the spinning column S is >=1kg/cm , preferably >=3kg/cm higher than normal pressure.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To control the amorphous orientation of a polyester fiber package, by setting a yarn length of 3-40m per unit length of 1m in the axial direction of a bobbin, and setting a taper angle of 25 deg. or less at the end face of the package. CONSTITUTION:In a polyester fiber package, the yield stress is 1.7-2.8g/d, the range DELTAT of the fluctuation in the stretch tension measured in the axial direction of the fiber at 4% of stretch is 0.13g/d or less, the yarn length per unit length of 1m in the axial direction of a bobbin is 3-40m, and the taper angle at the end face of the package is 25 deg. or less. For that reason, the amorphous orientation of the package is controlled to be appropriate.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To manufacture the titled fiber having randomly distributed nonuniformity and feeling, and giving nonuniform color density by dyeing, by passing a molten and spun fiber through a specific hot atmosphere before taken up, thereby drawing and heat-treating in the atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:Spun polyester fiber is cooled to a level below a temperature higher than the glass transition point of the polyester by 40 deg.C, introduced into a hot atmosphere heated at 150-300 deg.C, and taken up at a speed of >=3,000m/min. The heating fluid blasted into the hot atmosphere zone is localized by passing the fluid through different nozzles A1, A2, etc., and a polyester fiber containing the heat-drawn zones, undrawn zones and intermediate zones intermixed with each other can be produced.
