Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a two-way multiple time actuation type MEMS (Micro Electronic Mechanical System) device. SOLUTION: At least a layer of a shape memory material layer including at least one kind of shape memory material such as a SMA (shape memory alloy) film 110 and at least a layer of a stressed material layer including at least one kind of stressed material such as a stressed metal film 120 are arranged side by side as just neighbors, for instance. Specific stress or stress gradient is imparted to the stressed metal film 120 at the time of the formation. A device or system 100 is biased to an initial deformation state by the stress or stress gradient specific to the stressed metal film 120. Young's modulus and yield strength of the SMA film 110 are increased by martensite austenite phase transition when a temperature rises, mechanical bias by the stressed metal film 120 is overcome, and a distal end is displaced. A linear pump includes a housing having a bore and axially spaced apart inlet and outlet. A first check valve is joined to the housing for controlling flow of fluid through the bore. A piston is disposed coaxially in the housing bore for axial translation therein and includes a piston bore and axially spaced apart inlet and outlet. A second check valve is joined to the piston for controlling fluid flow through the piston bore. A linear motor includes a plurality of axially adjoining drive coils disposed in the housing, and a pair of axially spaced apart magnet rings disposed in the piston and spaced radially inwardly of the drive coils for magnetically cooperating therewith to axially oscillate the piston in the housing for cyclically pumping the fluid in turn through the housing and piston inlets and outlets in unidirectional flow through the housing and piston bores.
Abstract:
A piston for in-cylinder fuel-injection type internal combustion engine includes a piston body, a low thermal conductor, and a piston head. The low thermal conductor is disposed on the top of the piston body. The low thermal conductor includes a low thermally-conductive substrate, and a coating layer. The low thermally-conductive substrate has opposite surfaces. The coating layer includes alumina fine particles (Al2O3). The coating layer is adhered on at least a part one of the opposite surfaces of the low thermally-conductive substrate that makes a cast-buried or enveloped surface to be cast buried or enveloped in the piston head.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding device 1 superior in seizure resistance more than a conventional sliding device. SOLUTION: This sliding device 1 is composed of a swash plate 3 rotated by interlocking with a rotary shaft 2 and a plurality of semispherical shoes 4 for sliding with this swash plate 3. The semispherical shoe 4 is composed of an iron-based material, and the swash plate 3 is manufactured by using high strength brass as a material. On the sliding surface 4A of the shoe 4, a large number of microscopic annular swelling parts 7' are formed by laser quenching, and a lubricating oil passage 10' composed of a mesh-like recessed part is formed. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an aluminum-based material adhered to a titanium-based gas turbine engine component during engine operation. SOLUTION: In this method, at least a part of the titanium-based component provided for engine operation is immersed in acid solution to form an etching treated component. The acid solution contains sodium fluoride, sulfuric acid, and water. Next, the etching treated component is taken out of the solution, and the presence or absence of a dark-colored region which becomes an index of the adhered aluminum-based material is checked by comparing it with a light-colored region to conduct visual inspection. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor with improved sliding property and with high reliability. SOLUTION: In the compressor, surfaces 8c, 8d of a swash plate 8 is relatively slid with flat faces 9c, 9d of shoes 9a, 9b. Slide films C31 are formed on the surfaces 8c, 8d of the swash plate 8.
