The present disclosure is directed to a liquid measuring system for producing one or more property values of a liquid. The system can comprise: a thin film device and one or more measuring devices for measuring said one or more property values. This disclosure is particularly directed to a system comprise a thin film device for producing a thin film of the liquid on a spinning disk. The system is particularly useful for measuring color and appearance properties of the liquid. The system can be useful for producing coating compositions.
Abstract:
An inspection device for use in a fluid container having at least an opening includes a housing sized to fit through the opening. The housing has at least two fluid flow channels extending therethrough, each having an inlet and an outlet, and a pump maintained in the housing within each fluid flow channel. The pumps are selectively controlled to maneuver the housing within the fluid container. The inspection device continues with a method of in-situ inspection of a container having at least one opening to receive a fluid, that includes up-loading a virtual model of the container into a computer, inserting the device into the container, generating a position signal by the device and receiving the position signal on a computer. A virtual image of the device in the virtual model of the container is generated so as to determine an actual position of the device within the container.

Une méthode de mesure de planéité d'un produit métallique et un dispositif associé sont présentés. Ladite méthode s'applique à un produit métallique, sous forme soit d'une bande soit d'une plaque d'une ligne de traitement métallurgique, ledit produit à mesurer étant par défaut libre de traction externe, et comprend principalement les étapes suivantes : a) illuminer sous intensité uniforme une portion d'au moins une face dudit produit ; b) réaliser une capture d'image d'une ligne lumineuse de la portion illuminée, c) déplacer relativement la portion illuminée et la ligne lumineuse par rapport au produit selon une direction définie; d) réitérer les étapes a), b), c) ; e) collecter les images de lignes sous une répartition bidimensionnelle d'intensités et sélectionner une direction de brin du produit sous laquelle si au moins une onde des intensités est détectée, une variation d'amplitude locale de ladite onde délivre une valeur de défaut local de planéité du brin.

In addition, a detector configured to receive emission energy along a detection optical path in the same plane as the excitation optical path is also provided.

A flow analyzer includes a flow body having a single-piece construction. The flow body includes a flow path extending through the flow body along a flow direction between opposing inlet and outlet ports and an enclosed wiring conduit extending substantially transverse to the flow direction between a first side of the flow body and a second side of the flow body. The enclosed wiring conduit is isolated from the flow path. An illumination unit is disposed on the first side of the flow body and configured to illuminate fluid within the flow path. An observation unit is disposed on the second side of the flow body and configured to visually observe the fluid within the flow path.

Methods, systems, and computer readable media for determining physical properties of a specimen in a portable point of care device are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method includes placing a specimen onto an active surface that includes a plurality of microposts extending outwards from a substrate, wherein each micropost includes a proximal end attached to the substrate and a distal end opposite the proximal end and generating an actuation force in proximity to the micropost array that compels at least some of the microposts to exhibit motion. The method further includes detecting light that is emitted by an illumination source and interacts with the active surface while the at least some microposts exhibit motion in response to the actuation force, measuring data that represents the detected light interacting with the active surface, and determining at least one physical property of the specimen based on the measured data.
