The present invention relates to a system for transmitting and receiving audio, particularly, to a method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving of object-based audio contents, which packetizes audio objects having the same characteristic. To achieve the above, the present invention includes filtering a plurality of ESs according to common information, adding a packet header to the respective filtered ESs and generate ES packets, aggregating all the generated ES packets and then adding a multi-object packet header to the aggregated ES packets to generate an object packet, and multiplexing the generated object packet, packetizing the multiplexed object packet according to a transmitting media and transmitting the packetized object packet.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a local broadcasting service providing method and device in a local broadcasting system. The local broadcasting service providing device receives a first main broadcasting signal from a terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting system, and converts the first main broadcasting signal into a second main broadcasting signal for local broadcasting. The local broadcasting service providing device generates a second local broadcasting signal by encoding the first local broadcasting signal to be broadcast, hierarchically modulates the second main broadcasting signal and the second local broadcasting signal, and transmits the signals. Ac¬ cordingly, the local broadcasting service providing device provides compatibility with terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting and a local broadcasting service in a specific area to thus provide convenience to the user.

A method of upgrading software through a software download in a T-DMB terminal includes the steps of confirming, by the T-DMB terminal, an announcement message containing information for announcing when the software is downloaded by receiving a T-DMB signal and analyzing a plurality of fast information groups (FIGs), determining whether the software is downloaded according to information contained in the announcement message, if it is determined that the software is downloaded, storing ensemble information and download start time information among the information contained in the announcement message; matching a current ensemble with the stored ensemble when time according to the download start time information elapses, and confirming a signaling message for informing that the software is downloaded by analyzing an FIG received through the matched ensemble, and downloading the software.

A terrestrial DMB receiver using an imaginary channel in a terrestrial DMB system is disclosed. The terrestrial DMB receiver includes: a key input unit for receiving an input from a user; a display unit for providing image output to the user; an imaginary channel storage unit for storing information on imaginary channels designated to each broadcasting service by the user; a DMB receiving unit for receiving terrestrial DMB broadcasting; a MCI/SI analyzer for analyzing MCI and SI of FIC information from a DMB broadcasting signal received through the DMB receiving unit; and a controller for searching for the imaginary channel storage unit according to values of number keys input from the key input unit, extracting service IDs, controlling the DMB receiving unit to select broadcasting services according to the extracted service IDs, checking the information analyzed through the MCI/SI analyzer, and performing an update for the imaginary channel storage unit.

A digital broadcast Service Information (SI) data structure includes a Service Information (SI) structure equipped with a service and a service component, and transmits necessary data via a Fast Information Channel) and a Main Service Channel (MSC). The data structure includes an event identifier (EvtId) field for classifying a program varying with time in the service component in event units, and identifying the event in the SI, such that it provides program information.
