Abstract:
Abstract:
An original document scanning apparatus includes a supporting plate for supporting an original document; a scanning unit, movable relative to the supporting plate, for scanning the original document; a spacer member for regulating a clearance between the supporting plate and the scanning unit; wherein spacer member is in line contact to the supporting plate along a line extending in a moving direction of the scanning unit.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device and method for scanning an original copy (10) using a camera (20) containing a line sensor. Means are provided that, during the scanning process, hold, in an essentially constant manner, the optical path length (w) between the camera (20) and the line that is to be currently scanned, whereby the camera (20) executes a lifting and rotational movement.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus is capable of preventing generation of a streaked image or the like while maintaining the requisite precision level for the original reading position. The image reading apparatus includes a lead roller for supplying an original, a platen glass plate receiving the original supplied from the lead roller, a CCD for reading an image formed on the original supplied onto the platen glass plate, and a lead delivery roller for delivering the original after the reading of the image, in which there are provided between the lead roller and the lead delivery roller a plurality of platen rollers adapted to guide the original so as to keep it at a predetermined distance from the platen glass plate.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a scanning device for scanning a document such as a photograph (101) using an image sensor device (201) that uses optics that may have a narrow depth of focus (307), the scanning avoiding contact of the document by the image sensor device during scanning. That is, the focal volume (311) of the sensor device is at a distance from the image sensor device (201). The scanning device includes a positioning mechanism (203, 204) that maintains the front surface of the document in the focal volume during scanning.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes an image reading unit having image reading means for reading an image; a first original carriage for carrying an original and for reading an original image in contact with an image reading unit which is moving; a second original carriage for carrying an original and for reading an original image in contact with an image reading unit which is in a stationary state; a stay provided between the first original carriage and the second original carriage; urging means for urging the image reading unit toward the first original carriage or toward the second original carriage; a guide portion, provided outside an image reading region, for guiding the image reading unit away from the stay when the image reading unit moves between the first original carriage and the second original carriage; and a member to be guided slidable relative to the guide when the image reading unit moves between the first original carriage and the second original carriage, the member to be guided in being disposed at a balanced position in a moving direction of the image reading unit and is substantially in line contact with the guide portion.

Abstract:
A picture reader is provided with a read unit (2) equipped with a contacting member (21) which comes into contact with an original placing table (11) of a flat bed unit (1) and a pressing element (30) which presses the unit (2) against the table (11). Another picture reader is composed of a reader main body (50) having a read unit (102) and an original placing table (51), and an original cover (42) which has a light source (43) and a diffusing plate (45) and is attached to the main body (50) is an openable state, the distance to the light source (43) from a transparent original (41) placed on the table (51) being variable correspondingly to the thickness of the original (41). A still another picture reader reads in advance the accumulated difference between the movement of the optical unit (102) and a light source unit (43) and, when read scanning is started, shifts the relative position of the optical unit (102) to the light source unit (44) in the direction in which the accumulated difference is produced.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes: a contact glass provided at an upper surface of a main body of the apparatus to set a manuscript thereon, an image sensor being positioned below the contact glass and having a reading surface on contact glass side for reading an image from the manuscript on the contact glass, a carriage supporting the image sensor accommodated in a sensor container formed to have a recess open to the contact glass side, a rail member slidably supporting the carriage, and a biasing member biasing the image sensor to the contact glass side via a biased portion adjacent to the reading surface of the image sensor. An upper end of the biasing member is positioned below the contact glass and above the lower surface of the image sensor.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a large-format scanning system (1) comprising at least two image acquisition elements (2) in a cascade arrangement, at least one platen, preferably a glass plate (3), arranged upstream thereof, and at least two reflector rolls (5) arranged opposite the at least two image acquisition elements (2) in a cascade arrangement, said reflector rolls being pressed against the glass plate (3) and/or a copy (4) to be scanned by means of resilient elements (6) that are arranged at the sides of the reflector rolls (5). According to the invention, the side portions (7) of the reflector rolls (5) are designed such that they touch the glass plate (3) only outside the reading area of the image acquisition elements (2) for the copy to be scanned (4) and that the copy to be scanned (4) rests on the glass plate (3) in the center area (8) of the reflector rolls (5).
