Abstract: PURPOSE: A locking device of a seatback for a vehicle is provided to improve the safety of passengers by simultaneously operating an upper and a lower locking structures and maintaining the folded status of the seatback. CONSTITUTION: An upper locking structure(10) and a lower locking structure(20) are formed in a seatback. The lower locking structure is released by releasing the upper locking structure. The upper locking structure comprises a bracket on a seatback frame(110), a latch in a bracket, a stopper to fix the latch and a releasing lever to operate the stopper by protruding to the upper part of a seatback(100). The latch is connected with the stopper through an elastic spring to be interlocked each other. The latch is always locked in a striker(120) by the stopper. The lower locking structure comprises a bracket to be fixed in a floor panel(200) and a scissor member to be installed in the bracket. By locking the seat back, the unlocking of the seatback is prevented. By fixing the position of the seatback with the lower locking structure, the position of the seatback is fixed stably. Moreover, the flexibility of the seatback is improved in a sudden start or a recessed road.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A safety locking system of a double folding rear seat for a vehicle is provided to reduce cost by operating a stopper for both sliding and rotating motions and to improve convenience with a resilient spring installed to a pin connected with the stopper by returning a cushion to an original position without an additional operation of a lever. CONSTITUTION: A safety locking system of a double folding rear seat has a pin(6), a stopper(2), a spring(8), a straw(11) and a resilient spring(7). The pin slides along a rod(4) inside a housing(10) installed to a floor panel of a seat cushion. The stopper is attached to the pin to be hung to or relieved from a hook(30), sliding and rotating in a double use. The spring maintains a condition of the stopper protruded outside the housing. The straw transfers an operation of an operating lever(9) to the stopper. The resilient spring is attached to the pin to return the stopper in rotation to an original position. Thereby, cost is reduced by the stopper for both sliding and rotating. The cushion is returned to the original position without the operation of the lever.
