Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide flame retardancy of a tire even when the tire is brought into contact with a spark or fire in the last stage of wear of a pneumatic tire or in the case of breakage of the tire by using flame retardant organic fiber having an oxygen index within a specific value range, for at least an organic fiber cord in an outermost layer in a tread part. CONSTITUTION:In the last stage of wear of a tire, organic fiber 1 in a tread outermost layer is first exposed. At least for this organic fiber 1 in the outermost layer of a tread part 2, flame retardant fiber having an oxygen index (defined and measured by JIS K 7201, also referred to as O.I.) of 26.0-35.0 is used. Flame retardancy of the organic fiber in not only the outermost layer but also in two layers, three layers and the like toward the inside is preferable. Accordingly, the flame retardancy of the tire can be secured even when the tire is brought into contact with a spark or fire in the last stage of wear of a pneumatic tire or in the case of breakage of the tire.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent ignition at the contacting part of a tire with a rim without extensively damaging wear and abrasion resistance required for the contacting part of the tire with a rim flange. CONSTITUTION:A pneumatic tire 10 is 13/80R20 in its size, and the reinforcing part of the pneumatic tire 10 has an one-ply radial carcass 14 reinforced by a steel cord mounting in troidal shape on a pair of bead cores 12 and two layers of belts 16 reinforced by a steel cord on the outside in he radial direction of the radial carcass 14, and a stiffener rubber 20 is arranged between a radial carcass body and its turning up part, and moreover a bead reinforcing layer 22 is provided along the outside of the turning up part of the radial carcass 14. The contacting part of the bead part 25 of the pneumatic tire 10 with the rim of a basic rim 26 is provided with a rubber chaffer layer 28 formed of a flame proof rubber component whose oxygen index is within a range from 19.8 to 27.5 to a gauge T being 1.0mm or less.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a rubber tire having extremely high fire-retardant property without loss of basic performances by providing an outer covering rubber part, in which fire-retardant rubber composite layers, oxygen factor of which is in the range of 19.8 to 25.0 and which occupy at least 40wt.% of the outer covering rubber part are arranged outside. CONSTITUTION:A rubber tire 1 is provided with an outer covering rubber part consisting of a tread rubber layer 2, a side rubber layer 3 connected to each side of the rubber layers and extending inwardly in the diametral direction up to a bead part 5, and a rubber chafer layer 4 arranged outside the side rubber layer in the neighborhood of the bead part 5, and a reinforcing part inside the rubber part. In this case, fire-retardant rubber composite layers L1, L2, oxygen factor of which is in the range of 19.8 to 25.0 and which occupy at least 40wt.% of the outer covering rubber part, are arranged outside. Thus, fire-retardant property can be enhanced without damaging basic characteristics required for the rubber tire, namely, wear resistance, heat generation resistance, separation resistance, crack-generation resistance, etc., of the tread.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a golf ball with good flight characteristics and excellent shock resistance and durability by forming the core ball of the golf ball with a rubber composition material containing metal salt of methacrylic acid and having the specific surface area with a specified value or above. CONSTITUTION:Metal salt of methacrylic acid with the specific surface area 3.5m /g or above (BET method) is used as the unsaturated carboxylic acid polyvalent metal salt used for a rubber composition material forming the core ball of a one-piece golf ball or a multi-layer structure golf ball, and the core ball of the one-piece golf ball or multi-layer structure golf ball with high hardness and excellent shock resistance and durability is obtained with the use of a small quantity of the material. A bivalent metal such as zinc, magnesium or calcium and a trivalent metal such as aluminum are used as the metal constituting the metal salt of methacrylic acid. Metal salt of methacrylic acid 25-60 pts.wt. against base rubber component 100 pts.wt. is preferable for the combination quantity, if the combination quantity is below 25 pts.wt., the restitution coefficient of the ball or the core ball may be decreased, on the other hand, if it exceeds 60 pts.wt., the hardness of the ball may be made too high.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an electroviscous liq. having excellent stability and electrical response characteristics by mixing an organosilica sol with a non-reactive (modified) silicone oil having a predetermined specific gravity in such proportions that the SiO2 content falls within a particular range. CONSTITUTION:An organosilica sol is mixed with a non-reactive silicone oil (e.g., polydimethylsiloxane) or modified silicone oil (e.g., amino-modified silicone oil) having a specific gravity of 0.9-1.3, thereby producing an electroviscous liq. having an SiO2 content of 5-45wt.%. In order to attain stable and uniform dispersion of SiO2, it is necessary to use a dispersion stabilizer, such as octadecyldimethyl[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]ammonium chloride. The obtd. electroviscous liq. can be used in such a state that it is in direct contact with a rubber-like elastic material, because the electroviscous liq. does not contain any oil, solvent or the like which swells or dissolved the rubber-like elastic material.
