Such systems and/or methods may still further facilitate employing the precoding matrix in a MIMO wireless communication system.

    Abstract: A method for allocating resources in a wireless communications environment comprises receiving a mapping between a first hop-port and frequency range, and determining whether to map a second access terminal to a second hop-port that is mapped to at least the same frequency range during a substantially similar instance in time, the determination made as a function of characteristics relating to a first access terminal associated with the first hop-port. The method can further include determining that the first access terminal is a candidate for employing Space-Division Multiple Access (SDMA), and mapping the second-hop port and associating the second access terminal with the second hop-port when the second access terminal is also a candidate for employing SDMA.

    Abstract: Embodiments describe a varied transmission time interval in wireless communication system. According to some embodiments is a method for assignin g a transmission time interval. The method can include measuring a channel condition and/or a data rate of packet communicated by at least one wireless device. Based in part on the data rate and/or channel condition information, a determination can be made whether to schedule a long transmission time interval or a short transmission time interval to the packet. A long transmission time interval can be scheduled if the channel condition is poor and/or there is a low data rate. A short transmission time interval can be scheduled if the channel condition is good and/or the data rate is high or fast. The method can be repeated for multiple wireless devices. Also include d is an alternative interlacing structure that supports both long transmission time intervals and short transmission time intervals.

    Abstract: To receive packets with interference cancellation, block transmissions for the packets are received on time-frequency blocks used by these packets. Receiver spatial processing is performed on input symbols to obtain detected symbols. Each packet is demodulated and decoded based on all detected symbols obtained for all block transmissions received for the packet. For each packet that is decoded correctly, the transmission for the packet is terminated, the interference due to the packet is estimated, and the estimated interference is subtracted from the input symbols for all time-frequency blocks used by the packet. Receiver spatial processing is performed on the interference-canceled symbols to obtain new detected symbols for all time-frequency blocks used by all correctly decoded packets. Each packet decoded in error and overlapping at least partially with any correctly decoded packet may be demodulated and decoded based on all detected symbols available for that packet.
