Abstract:
A coverage robot includes a chassis, a drive system, and a cleaning assembly. The cleaning assembly includes a housing and at least one driven cleaning roller including an elongated core with end mounting features defining a central longitudinal axis of rotation, multiple floor cleaning bristles extending radially outward from the core, and at least one compliant flap extending radially outward from the core to sweep a floor surface. The flap is configured to prevent errant filaments from spooling tightly about the core to aid subsequent removal of the filaments. In another aspect, a coverage robot includes a chassis, a drive system, a controller, and a cleaning assembly. The cleaning assembly includes a housing and at least one driven cleaning roller. The coverage robot includes a roller cleaning tool carried by the chassis and configured to longitudinally traverse the roller to remove accumulated debris from the cleaning roller.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a system for automatically exchanging cleaning tools of a robot cleaner and a method therefor. The system for automatically exchanging the cleaning tools of the robot cleaner includes the robot cleaner for deciding whether a currently-mounted first cleaning tool is suitable for a bottom state of a cleaning area, and returning to and being docked on an exchange unit when the first cleaning tool is not suitable for the bottom state, and the exchange unit for exchanging the first cleaning tool currently mounted on the robot cleaner with a second cleaning tool suitable for the bottom state when the robot cleaner is docked.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase flexibility in positioning a docking station.SOLUTION: A docking station for a mobile robot comprises a first side portion and a second side portion, and houses an electrical system having power input means. The power input means includes a first power input socket provided on the first side portion, and a second power input socket provided on the second side portion. The two power input sockets provide users with flexibility to choose a location of the docking station in an environment.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robot device, information providing device, information providing system, and program, which are capable of presenting a user with various related information for coping with a state of a self-propelled cleaner, such as malfunction of the robot device.SOLUTION: A robot device (1) communicates with an information providing device (301). The robot device (1) includes: a detected information transmitting means for transmitting detected information suggesting the state of the robot device (1) to the information providing device (301); a related information receiving means for receiving related information related to the detected information from the information providing device (301); and a related information output means for presenting the related information.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robot and a base station which can be appropriately and accurately joined regardless of the position of the base station. SOLUTION: The method for docking a robot device and the base station includes the steps of: detecting a low energy level in an on-board battery; matching the direction of the robot to an overlap detected between two infrared beams radiated by the station; detecting contact between charging terminals of the robot and the base station; charging the on-board battery; and restarting a task of the robot such as vacuum cleaning. A system for irradiating an avoidance signal for preventing contact due to carelessness between the robot and the base station, and a system for irradiating a return signal for accurately docking the robot device to the base station are also disclosed.
