    Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure activity by transmitting the image of a measured plant photographed at a remote location to a control room in real time. CONSTITUTION:A plant is photographed with two CCD cameras 1. The R-image data of the reflected light with the wavelength near 670nm are obtained by one CCD camera 1, and the IR-image data of the reflected light with the wavelength near 850nm are obtained by another CCD camera 1. The illuminance data are measured by an illuminance meter 2. The image data and illuminance data are transmitted by parabola antennas 7, 8 and inputted to a computer 11. The computer 11 calculates the spectral reflection factor ratio IR/R, and an image is processed and displayed on a monitor television 15.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain each photoluminescence spectrum rapidly under same conditions and a detailed information on each level by performing excitation with two lights with a different wavelength when measuring photoluminescence for a deep level within a band gap of a semiconductor. CONSTITUTION:Both lights lambda1 and lambda2 are allowed to hit against a sample 4 using two lasers lambda1 and lambda2 with a different wavelength for a light source. The light lambda2 is blocked by a chopper 3. A PL spectrum for a light with lambda2 is obtained by amplifying by a lock-in amplifier 8 a signal regarding the PL light intensity which is obtained through a spectrometer 6 and a detector 7 in synchronization with a signal when the chopper 3 is opened. A PL signal for a light with lambda1 is integrated by a box car integrator 9 which opens an input gate for a short time in synchronization with a signal when the chopper 3 is closed, thus obtaining the PL spectrum for lambda1.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure a melting color by arranging a steam jacket on the outside of a liquid tank, arranging heat insulating plates having windows between a light source and the liquid tank and between the liquid tank and a detecting part and forming a cooling water reflux passage between the light source and the detecting part. CONSTITUTION:Power is controlled by a control board 22 to emit a lamp 12. An optical system 13 converts light into parallel beams with wavelength lambda1 in which light is not almost absorbed into a melt and wavelength lambda2 in which light is strongly absorbed. The parallel beams are made incident upon the detecting part through a glass plug 10, a plate 16, the liquid tank, a plate 17, and a plug 11. The light components with the lambda1, lambda2 are respectively reflected by mirrors 18, 19 and converted into electric signals by photoelectric conversion elements 20, 21 and the electric signals are compared with each other to determine the level of the melting color. The heat insulating plates 6, 7 are fixed to the flanges 1c, 1d of the liquid tank and cooling plates 8, 9 are arranged between a light source case 2 and a detecting part case 3. Passages 8a, 9a are formed in the cooling plates 8, 9 and cooling water supplying pipe connection holes 8b, 9b and recovery pipe connection holes 8c, 9c are formed. In the constitution, the melting color is always automatically and appropriately measured and record through an on-line.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To permit elimination of influence of second order diffracted light and to reduce the length of an array detector to about half by rotating a diffraction grating by a rotary shaft so that the incident angle of light to the diffraction grating can be changed over in two steps. CONSTITUTION:Incident light L from an inlet slot 1 is diffracted by the diffraction grating 2 and enters the array detector 3, where the spectral distribution of the diffracted light is detected. The diffraction grating 2 is fixed on the front end of the rotary shaft 5 driven by a low-speed motor or the like and is so constituted that the grating can be freely inverted 180 deg.. A filter 6 for cutting short wavelength provided on the incident side of the inlet slit 1 is so constituted that said filter is rotated by a gear system 7 cooperatively with the diffraction grating 2.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To lower a noise level by providing two array type photodetectors on the exit surface of a spectrograph, detecting sample light and reference light with same wavelength at the same time and calculating absorbance, and canceling variation in the quantity of light of a light source sufficiently. CONSTITUTION:The sample light which passes through a sample cell 2 and the reference light which passes through a reference cell 3 are incident on a concave diffraction grating 12 which constitutes the spectrograph through a slit 14a. A sample-side photodiode array 16 as an array type photodetector is provided on the exit surface of the spectrograph including the grating 12 at the sample-side image formation position of the slit 14a. A reference-side photodiode array 18 as an array type detector is provided at the reference-side image formation position of the slit 14a. A signal processor 20 inputs the detection signals of the same wavelength parts of the arrays 16 and 18 at the same time to calculate the absorbance. Consequently, the noise level is lowered.
