    Abstract: PURPOSE: An optical pickup device of an optical disk drive is provided to slightly raise a slider from a recording surface of a disk by an air bearing effect, thereby maintaining a near field between an objective lens and the disk. CONSTITUTION: An objective lens(21) focuses an incident light on a recording surface of an optical disk. A slider(23) is raised by an air bearing effect generated in a gap with the optical disk, and forms a near field in the gap with the optical disk. A flexure(25) supplies a degree of freedom capable of performing rolling and pitching movements in the slider, when the slider is raised from the disk. A coil bobbin(27) is composed of a winding part(27a) and four supporting bars(27b) extended from both ends of upper/lower sides of the winding part. An optical head(20) elastically moves in a focusing direction and a tracking direction by four wire suspensions(30). The wire suspensions whose both ends are fixed into a block body(10) are transformed in the focusing and the tracking directions by an external force, and move the optical head. A driving unit(40) supplies the external force.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing near field recording/regenerating magnetic-optical head is provided to reduce volume and weight of a magnetic-optical head by locating a reflection film between a transparent slider and a coil member to focus an incidence light. CONSTITUTION: A magnetic-optical head for near field recording/regenerating has a slider(50) which moves at a magnetic-optical recording media(40) as it is floated by a pneumatic dynamic pressure, and records information through magnetic field modulation, and regenerates information optically. The slider(50) is composed of transparent material which permeates light. At least one coil layer(61a,61b) is laminated and formed with a spiral structure at one side of the slider(50) facing with the magnetic-optical recording media(40). An insulation layer(63) covers and protects the coil layer, and insulates electrically gap of members near to the coil layer. A coil member(60) has a transparent area composed of a transparent material so that the incidence light permeates at central part of the coil layer and the insulation layer. An air bearing(70) is formed by plating at a designated location of one side of the slider(50) facing with the magnetic-optical recording media(40). A focusing device is placed at the slider(50) and forms an optical spot at the magnetic-optical recording media focusing the incidence light.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for correcting the eccentricity of a disk for recording/playing back information and a method thereof are provided to correct the eccentricity of the disk at an assembling. CONSTITUTION: The recording/playback head(20), a rotary plate for encoder(50), an encoder(60), a discriminating unit and a pushing device(70) are prepared. The first eccentric amount is calculated from a maximum tracking error by rotating a disk(10). The discriminating unit searches rotary angles(theta1,theta2) of a disk when the maximum tracking error is detected. The disk is located at the angel(theta1). The disk is pushed as the first eccentric amount/2 toward a rotary shaft by the pushing device. A second eccentric amount is calculated by rotating the disk again. The disk is located at the angle(theta1) and pushed as the second eccentric amount when the first eccentric amount is larger than the second. Otherwise, the disk is located at the angle(theta2) and pushed as the second eccentric amount.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A cartridge for receiving different-sized disks is provided to receive a cartridge having a 12-cm disk or a 8-cm disk on one tray by providing a cartridge receiving all sorts of disks having different sizes. CONSTITUTION: A cartridge(10) is provided for receiving a 12-cm disk(D) or a 8-cm disk. A detaching prevention unit is rotatably combined at the rear portion of the cartridge(10) for preventing the disk from being separated. A supporting unit are provided to the cartridge(10) and the detaching prevention unit for rotatably supporting the 8-cm disk. The cartridge(10) is constructed by combining an upper plate and a lower plate(12, 14) for having a rotation space. Opening units(12a)(14a) are formed at the upper plate and the lower plate(12, 14) for recording/reproducing information by exposing a data area to an optical pickup device. A position deciding hole(14b) is formed at an end circumference portion of the rear surface of the lower plate(14) for being penetrated by a position deciding pin when the cartridge is inserted into a recording/reproducing device. A terminal hole(14c) is formed at the one side of the position deciding hole(14b) for inserting a switch terminal of a recording reproducing device. A guide hole(12b) and the first and second inserting hole(14d)(14e) are formed at the front surface of the upper plate and the lower plate(12, 14) for guiding and fixing the supporting unit. The inserting holes(14d,14e) are at both side portions of the guide hole(12b). A shutter(16) is mounted at the front portion of the cartridge(10) for exposing the disk to the optical pickup device. A spring(18) is provided at the lower plate(14) for returning the shutter(16) to the initial position. A detaching prevention unit comprises an arc-shaped rib(22) supporting a cover(20) being combined to the cartridge(10) and supporting the 12-cm disk(D) at the rear portion. A supporting unit comprises a pair of the first and second levers(30,40) being combined to one side portion of the upper plate and the lower plate(12, 14) and the cover(20) by a hinge unit(24).
