    Abstract: PURPOSE: A device and a method for partly transmitting images on the network are provided to transmit only data necessary for display in a client, without transmitting all image data, so as to secure QoS(Quality of Service). CONSTITUTION: In a server(20), an image database(24) stores a partly accessible image file. An offset and part access information database(23) stores information necessary for generating a part area image file. A server communication processor(21) receives a request of the part area image file from a client(10) and transmits the requested part area image file to the client. A JPEG(Joint Photographic Experts Group) part access processor(22) extracts corresponding offset and part access information from the offset and part access information database to access the corresponding file stored in the image database(24) and generate a part area image, and delivers the generated part area image to the server communication processor. In the client, a scroll controller(12) interprets scroll information inputted by a user to control a command of displaying a new area. A display controller(11) requests the part area image to display the new area, and controls the part area image of the new area to be displayed. A client communication processor(14) transmits the part area image request from the display controller to the server communication processor, and receives the part area image from the server communication processor. And a JPEG decoder(13) decodes the part area image from the client communication processor to deliver the decoded part area image to the display controller.

    Abstract: 본 발명은 디지털 동영상 데이터를 그 내용에 기반하여 자동으로 분할, 구조화하고, 분할된 단위 동영상으로부터 대표프레임을 선정함으로써 효율적이고 유연한 동영상의 검색 및 브라우징 서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 하는 디지털 동영상 데이터 자동분할장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것이다.
    이와같은 본 발명은 디지털 동영상 데이터에 나타나는 장면전환을 종래의 발명들에 비하여 보다 정확하게 검출할 수 있을 뿐 아니라, 페이드 아웃, 페이드 인 등의 점진적인 장면전환점도 검출이 가능하여 보다 정확한 동영상의 구조화가 가능하다. 또한 내용적으로 의미있는 대표프레임의 선정이 가능하여 검색 및 브라우징 서비스의 질을 향상 시킬 수 있다.
