Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a seat pillar (4) and a two-wheeled vehicle frame having such a seat pillar. According to the invention, a piston (12) is supported directly on a seat tube (2) and plunges into a support tube (14), which can be fixed by means of a locking device (20) on the support tube (14).
Abstract:
A front wheel supporting structure for a straddle-type vehicle includes a front arm (10) which supports a front axle (6) and which extends rearward from a front axle to a location behind a front wheel (5), and a pair of upper and lower link members (21, 22) which is turnably connected to two vertically separated portions of a rear end of a front arm (10). The link members (21, 22) extend rearward. Rear ends (21b, 22b) of the link members are turnably connected to a vehicle body-configuring member. The front wheel supporting structure includes a front suspension mechanism (12) which suppresses turning motion of the front arm (10).
Abstract:
A vehicle, comprising a vehicle frame having a front frame portion (32) and a mid-frame portion (34). The front frame portion (32) comprises upstanding frame supports (60) which define an inner engine receiving area intermediate the upstanding frame supports and engine mounts (72) coupled to the upstanding frame supports within the engine receiving area and suspension mounts (78) on an outside of the upstanding frame supports (60). The vehicle further comprises an engine positioned within the engine receiving area and mounted to the engine mounts (72); a front suspension coupled to the suspension mounts (78); front wheels coupled to the front suspension; side by side seats mounted on the mid-frame portion, rearward of the engine; and at least one rear wheel.
Abstract:
Adjustable seat post assembly for bicycles and the like, comprising a bushing (3), a quill (6) slidingly inserted in said bushing (3) and supporting the seat, jam means (8), inserted along said quill (6) and having a portion (9) which is pivotally coupled to said bushing (3). The jam means (8) are pivotable from an unlocked position, in which said quill (6) can freely slide inside said jam means (8) and relative to said bushing (3), to at least a locked position in which said jam means (8) blocks said quill (6) relative to said bushing (8) in at least one direction of displacement.
Abstract:
A dropper post may include an outer tube and an inner tube slidable relative to the outer tube between an extended position and a retracted position. A spring cartridge may include an axially extending cylinder containing a combination of a liquid and a gas and having a sliding surface and a piston with a sealing portion dividing the cylinder interior to provide a first chamber and a second chamber. Moving the inner tube toward the retracted position expands the first chamber. When inner tube is in the extended position the sealing portion is at least partially submerged in the liquid, the second chamber contains a layer of the gas above a layer of the liquid and the first chamber contains the liquid and when the inner tube is in the retracted position the first chamber contains the liquid and a layer of gas between the liquid and the sealing portion.
Abstract:
A fluid device for a bicycle may be provided to vent fluid from a hydraulic chamber of a seating component such as an adjustable seating assembly for a bicycle. The fluid device may be operable to vent a compressible fluid or a mixed combination flow of compressible and non-compressible fluids in a metered volume. The fluid device may recycle fluids preferentially.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for a seat post assembly that is adjustable to an upper, intermediate, and lower seat post position using a locking member and a sleeve member coupled to an actuator for securing and releasing an inner tube with respect to an outer tube. The actuator may move the sleeve member to release the locking member from engagement with the outer tube to adjust the inner tube and thus the seat post assembly to the upper, intermediate, or lower seat post positions. The actuator and the sleeve may be biased into an initial position that urges the locking member into engagement with outer tube to lock the inner tube to the outer tube.
Abstract:
A bicycle comprises front and rear wheels, a frame, a seat post, and a damping member. An upper portion of the seat post is movable relative to the frame between a first position and a second position. The damping member couples the seat post to the frame to dampen movement of the upper portion of the seat post. The damping member can be positioned at least partially in a top tube of the frame. Preferably, the seat post flexes when the upper portion of the seat post moves. The frame further includes a securing location for securing the seat post, and the securing location is a distance from the upper end of the seat tube that is at least 30% of a length of a seat tube. The seat post has a front-to-rear width, and the seat tube has a rear wall spaced from the seat post by a gap that is at least 25% of a front-to-rear width of the seat post.
Abstract:
A system and method for utilizing an active valve customizable tune application is disclosed. The system includes a mobile device having a memory, an active valve tune application, and at least one processor. The processor initiates the active valve tune application, receives, from a database, an active valve suspension tune having a number of performance range adjustable settings, and receives user related input information. At least one of the performance range adjustable settings is modified based on the received input information to generate a modified active valve suspension tune. The system includes an active suspension of a vehicle, wherein the modified active valve suspension tune is implemented by the active suspension.
