Abstract:
Abstract:
A method schedules cars of an elevator system in a building. The method begins execution whenever a newly arrived passenger presses an up or down button to generate a call for service. For each car, determine a first waiting time for all existing passengers if the car is assigned to service the call, based on future states of the elevator system. For each car, determine a second waiting time of future passengers if the car is assigned to service the call, based on a landing pattern of the cars. For each car, combine the first and second waiting times to produce an adjusted waiting time, the method ends by assigning a particular car having a lowest adjusted waiting time to service the call and minimize an average waiting time of all passengers.
Abstract:
A device for managing and controlling the operation of elevators which is provided with a section of collecting traffic data for finding the traffic volume of the users of an elevator, a section of calculating the traffic volume based on the traffic data collected by the collecting section, a section of calculating the estimated traffic flow value of the users of the elevator moving up and down each story based on the traffic volume calculated by the traffic volume calculating section, a section of setting a control parameter for controlling the operation of the elevator based on the estimated traffic flow value calculated by the traffic flow calculating section, and a section of controlling the operation of the elevator based on the control parameter set by the setting section. In virtue of the above-specified constitution, the device is not required to store in advance the combinations of many traffic flow patterns and traffic volumes obtained from the patterns for controlling a group of elevators, but can manage and control the elevators by immediately calculating an estimated traffic flow value from traffic volume data observed so far and setting control parameters for managing and controlling the elevators corresponding to the calculated estimated traffic flow value.
Abstract:
A system for controlling elevator cars in a building having a plurality of floors includes a group controller for controlling operation of the elevator cars. The group controller predicts lobby single source traffic for determined periods. When the predicted traffic is below a certain limit, cars are assigned to a lobby hall call on demand after hall call registration. When the predicted traffic is above a certain limit, cars are assigned to the lobby hall call at intervals. Accordingly, car assignment is scheduled at those intervals. The schedule interval is varied based on predicted traffic and predicted round trip time of the cars. The cars are assigned to hall calls if they arrive within a schedule window. The schedule window comprises a lower and an upper tolerance that are selected around a scheduled time.
