A locking mechanism (100) for use with a pneumatic cylinder/differential engine for a power-operated door including a locking rod (20), a plunger (24) associated with the locking rod (20) to cause extension and retraction of the locking rod (20) with respect to a door opening/closing gear (46), and a spring member (34) associated with the plunger (24) for maintaining the plunger (24) and the locking rod (20) in an extended position during a door closed position. An aperture (46a) is located through a sidewall portion of the gear hub (46b) which is capable of receiving an end (20a) of the locking rod (20) when the locking rod is in an extended position to lock the door in a door closed position. The invention also includes an emergency door opening mechanism enabling manual opening of the doors in case of an emergency.

A window assembly including a frame having an interior portion and an exterior portion and a sash (104) having an interior portion (116) and an exterior portion (117). The window assembly includes an operational mode and a wash mode. In the operational mode, the sash (104) is movable from a closed position to a position in which the sash (104) is generally perpendicular with the frame. In the wash mode, the sash (104) is movable to a position where the exterior portion of the sash (104) faces toward the exterior of the frame.

A 12 Volt DC drive assembly (10) for a swing type gate (16,18), the assembly including a mounting member (42) which is attached to a pillar (20), a support member (44) adapted to be attached to the mounting member so that it extends outwardly from said support structure to support componentry associated with the drive assembly in a generally upright configuration, a gear box arrangement having a drive shaft and at least one rotating worm gear shaft (74) housed at opposed ends within two bearings one of which can be moved along the longitudinal axis of the rotating worm gear shaft to account for any slack. A first and second adjustable cams (60,62) are associated with the drive shaft and configured to engage a first and second limit switch (64,66) respectively in a timed sequence dictated by the selective offset angle between the cams and which control the opening and closing angle of the gate.

An electrically driven entryway activation system for opening and closing two spaced swinging doors hung on spaced rotating parallel door posts comprises a base plate extending between the door posts. Levers attached to each door post rotate in a plane parallel to the base plate. A low profile actuation system spaced between the levers comprises a center post, a sector gear journaled on the center post for rotation parallel to the base plate, and a low profile gearmotor mounted between the base plate and the sector gear. A low profile emergency manual mechanism is provided for unclutching the output pinion gear of the gearmotor.

An assembly for automatically opening and closing a sliding door of the type including a fixed panel and a moving panel which slides on a track relative to the fixed panel. The assembly comprises a housing defining an internal space; a support frame defining a space which receives and retains a drive assembly including a motor having a drive shaft; a drive wheel operably linked to the motor via said drive shaft. The assembly also includes an idler pulley; at least one drive belt associated with said drive wheel and the idler pulley; wherein, when the drive wheel is energised by the motor, motion is imparted to the drive belt thereby causing the movable panel of the sliding door to move between a first state when the door is closed and a second state when the door is open.

A device for a sliding door (1), of the type where the door (1) is lifted and pulled out before it is slid away from the appurtenant door opening. The door comprises at least two hinges (2) at the upper end of the door (1), each consisting of a pivot (6) connected to the door (1), an arm (8) connected at an angle to the end of the pivot opposite the door and a support means (16-19) for supporting the hinge (2) in a track (15) or similar connected to the door opening. The pivot (6) is mounted slantingly in the door (1) and is pivotal relative to the door (1) in a plane parallel to the door leaf of the door. The door (1) also comprises lower hinges (3) and the lower and upper hinges can be forced to move in relation to one another. Furthermore, the door comprises a special operating handle which has the combined function of both opening/closing member and locking member.

An apparatus is provided for operating a segmented sliding overhead door (6). The door (6) slides in a pair of side tracks (4) mounted at either side of the door (6) between a closed vertical position (6A) and an open horizontal position (6B). A driver (1A) is mounted at the side-to-side center of the door (6) and extends away from an interior side (6C) of the door (6). The driver (1A) includes a screw drive shaft (17) mounted horizontally above the door (6). A motor (10) engages drive shaft (17) and provides reversible rotational drive force to the drive shaft (17). A drive shaft coupling unit (45) moves along the drive shaft (17) and guides the coupling unit (45) along the drive shaft (17). A door connecting rod assembly (5A) jams the door (6) against the floor when the door (6) is in the closed position (6A), and connects a carrier unit (40) to the door (6) for moving the door (6) along the side tracks (4). A safety release (61) may be included for releasing the connecting rod assembly (5A) from the door (6) so that the door (6) may be manually operated. The apparatus is particularly shock resistant.

The main frame mainly consists of wood profiles with weather-resisting coverings. A hinge pivot at the top of the window is formed by an edge portion (28) of an extruded profile member (27) connected to the main frame (20) and a hinge blade is formed by a hook-shaped wall portion (6) of the opposite frame profile member (1). To ensure engagement of said hinge pivot and hinge blade in the closed position of the window engaging means at one of the other sides of the window may comprise a sliding block (31) arranged displaceably in a track in a frame member between a fixed window position opposite a retaining device anchored in the main frame and an openable window position for connection to a motion transfer member guided in a recess in the main frame.
