Abstract: PURPOSE: A headrest of a vehicle is provided to prevent a driver from being injured by supporting the neck and the head of the driver with widening the upper headrest and the lower headrest at a collision. CONSTITUTION: A headrest body is supported in a backrest of a seat by a supporting bar, and an upper headrest(5) and a lower headrest(6) are connected to an operating cylinder. Upper and lower headrests are expanded with moving up and down. An operating bar(9) is installed in the rear part of the operating cylinder by a turning lever(12). A return spring(8) and a stopper(10) are formed in the operating bar, and an electromagnet(11) is formed in the turning lever. The operating bar is moved back and forth, and the electromagnet is connected to an impact detecting sensor(15). The driver is protected by supporting the head and the neck of the driver at a collision.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus for indicating the amount of the cooling water is provided to prevent an engine from being overheated due to the shortage of the cooling water by making a driver easily check the amount of the cooling water without the opening of an engine hood or a reservoir cap. CONSTITUTION: A reservoir tank(10) for storing the cooling water has a cooling water injection port(11). A water cylinder(20) received in the reservoir tank has an intake holder(22) of which lower end is bent perpendicularly and an operating hole for moving an actuator(30). The actuator has a tube(32) moving along the surface of the water in the water cylinder and a piston(34) connected with the tube via a rod moving along the operating hole. The piston is received in an electric cylinder(40). The electric cylinder has first and second conductors. The position of the piston is determined depending on the movement of the tube in the water cylinder. The amount of the cooling water is decided by applying currents between the first and second conductors. The measured cooling water amount is indicated on an instrument panel(52) of a driver's seat.
