Abstract: Polyisobutenamines of the formula I: R-X (I) where R is a polyisobutenyl radical having a number average molecular weight M n of from 500 to 1500 and a polydispersity M w / M n of less than 1.4 and X is an organic radical having amino groups, are prepared and are used as detergent additives in fuel compositions. Additive concentrates contain at least one polyisobutenamine in an amount of from 0.1 to 80% by weight.

Abstract: An isobutene polymer which has an average of at least 1.4 terminal 1,3-propanediol groups is described, as is a crosslinking product thereof. Suitable crosslinkers are difunctional or higher-functionality isocyanates or epoxy compounds having at least two epoxide groups. The crosslinking products exhibit high storage moduli even at elevated temperatures.

Abstract: A polymer composition containing:(a) at least one hydrophobic polymer, (b) at least one polyisobutene terminally modified with polar groups, obtainable by functionalization of reactive polyisobutene of number average molecular weight Mn = 150-50000 is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) fibers, films, and shaped bodies built up from the polymer composition; (2) a process for preparation of the polymer composition by contacting the hydrophobic polymer (component A) or the monomer for preparation of this polymer with at least one polyisobutene (component B) modified with terminal polar groups; (3) a colored polymer composition containing:(a) at least one hydrophobic polymer as component A, (b) at least one polyisobutene terminally modified with polar groups obtainable as above, as component B, and (c) at least one colorant; (4) a process for preparation of shaped bodies, films and fibers where at least one polyisobutene modified with terminal polar groups is brought into contact with the hydrophobic polymer during processing of the shaped bodies, films, or fibers; (5) a process for coloring of fibers, films and shaped bodies in which a liquor containing at least one colorant is contacted with the composition or the fibers, films and shaped bodies; and (6) fibers, films, and shaped bodies obtained from a colored polymer composition.

Abstract: Polyisobutenylphenol-containing Mannich adducts are prepared by a) alkylation of a phenol with highly reactive polyisobutene at below about 50° C. in the presence of an alkylation catalyst; b) reaction of the reaction product from a) with formaldehyde, an oligomer or a polymer of formaldehyde and at least one amine which has at least one secondary amino function and no primary amino function, or c) reaction of the reaction product from a) with at least one adduct of at least one amine which has at least one secondary or primary amino function and formaldehyde, an oligomer of formaldehyde, a polymer of formaldehyde or a formaldehyde equivalent, and are used as detergent additives in fuel and lubricant compositions, and additive concentrates, fuel compositions and lubricant compositions contain these Mannich adducts.
