Abstract:
A multichamber container must have certain characteristics in order to uniformly dispense the contents of each chamber from the container. The outer wall of the container and the inner divider web walls must have certain characteristics. The inner divider web walls must be highly flexible while the outer container wall must be less flexible. The Deflective Force for the outer wall must be greater than the Deflective Force for the web walls. In addition, to alleviate the problem of suckback of air into the container chambers, the outer wall should exhibit a specific Retention Index. This is a measure of the outer wall to remain deflected after the removal of the deflecting force. The inner divider web wall will have a lower Retention Index than the outer wall. By the proper selection of outer wall and web walls, there can be uniform dispensing from the dispenser.
Abstract:
An oral composition comprising in an orally acceptable vehicle, an effective antiplaque amount of an halogenated diphenyl ether or phenolic antibacterial compound, and an amount of a mixed anionic/nonionic surfactant system at weight ratios of about 14:1 to 9:1 which ratios are effective to increase the uptake of the antibacterial compound to dental tissue so as to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of the administered antibacterial compound.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a liquid crystal composition comprising a water insoluble organic compound, a nonionic surfactant, an abrasive, an ethoxylated alkyl ether sulfate surfactant, a polycarboxylate thickener, a fatty alcohol, a cosurfactant and water.
Abstract:
A light duty liquid detergent with desirable cleansing properties and mildness to the human skin comprising: (a) 0.5 % to 22 % of an alkali metal or ammonium salt of a C8-18 ethoxylated alkyl ether sulfate; (b) 0.1 % to 8 % of a monoalkyl phosphate ester; (c) 0.5 % to 10 % of a magnesium salt of a C10-C16 alkyl benzene sulfonate surfactant; (d) 0 to 12 % of at least one solubilizing agent; (e) 0 to 20 % of an alkyl polyglucoside surfacant; (f) 1 % to 6 % of a C12-C14 alkyl monoalkanol amide and/or a C12-C14 alkyl-dialkanol amide; (g) 1 % to 10 % of a zwitterionic surfactant; (h) 0 to 30 % of a nonionic surfactant; and (i) the balance being water.
Abstract:
A base composition and corresponding cosmetic composition are disclosed which can be formed as solids (for example, gels or sticks) and which comprise a solvent which includes a silicone fluid (for example, a silicone oil such as cyclomethicone) and a thickening agent formed from a wax and a polyamide gellant wherein at least one of the wax and polyamide includes silicon-containing moieties (for example, siloxane groups to have a siloxane diamide wax to enhance compatibility of the silicone fluid in the composition). A cosmetically active material, such as a deodorant or antiperspirant active material, is included in the composition to form a solid cosmetic product (antiperspirant or deodorant product), which can be a clear product. Compositions of the present invention can be made with increased amounts of silicone fluid and with improved aesthetic such as decreased tack.
Abstract:
This invention relates to an acidic liquid crystal composition comprising an ethoxylated nonionic surfactant, an aliphatic carboxylic acid, an ethoxylated alkyl ether sulfate surfactant or sodium lauryl sulfate, a weak base, a water-insoluble organic compound selected from perfumes, essential oils and hydrocarbons, a cosurfactant, a magnesium salt and water.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a liquid crystal composition comprising an ethoxylated nonionic surfactant, wood particles or an abrasive, an ethoxylated alkyl ether sulfate surfactant or alkyl sulfate surfactant, a cosurfactant, a water-insoluble organic compound selected from perfumes, essential oils and hydrocarbons, and water.
Abstract:
A reclosable container (10) is preferably produced by thermoforming. The container has an elongated shape with a dispensing nozzle(14) at one end. Above the dispensing nozzle is a tab (18). When this tab is broken off the container, the nozzle is opened. Adjacent the nozzle is a hinged closure (22). The hinged closure has a shape complementary to that of the nozzle and can be rotated on the hinge (24) to overlap and close the container nozzle. There is an arrangement (28-30) to lock the closure in a nozzle closing orientation and an arrangement (32-34) to provide an air and liquid seal to the nozzle.
Abstract:
Fabric softening compositions which form and maintain stable aqueous dispersions in the absence of added oily perfume are disclosed. The stability of aqueous fabric softener compositions based on a mixture of an amido amine, such as bis(tallow amidoethyl)-2-hydroxyethyl amine and a quaternary diester fabric softener, such as N-methyl, N,N,N-triethanolamine ditallow ester quaternary ammonium salt is enhanced by inclusion in the composition of at least one fatty ester of a fatty acid or fatty alcohol, e.g., glycerol monostearate.
Abstract:
An improvement is described in all purpose cleaning or microemulsion compositions more environmentally friendly, which is especially effective in the removal of oily and greasy soil and having an evidenced grease release effect, contains an anionic detergent, an alkoxylated polyhydric alcohol, a hydrocarbon ingredient, and water.
