Procédé de distribution notamment d'un produit adhésif et/ou d'étanchéité (14), consistant à pomper le produit une ou plusieurs fois pour en permettre l'application sur au moins un élément à rendre étanche, par exemple un élément mécanique (5) pour véhicle automobile; et à désaérer le produit pour en optimiser l'application sur ledit élément, ceci étant effectué entre le pompage et l'application dudit produit. L'appareil de distribution de produit (14) comporte un dispositif (2) servant à amener le produit à un autre dispositif (4) destiné à l'appliquer sur le ou les éléments (5) à rendre étanche; ainsi qu'un dispositif désaérateur (3) coopérant avec les dispositifs de pompage et d'application afin d'assurer un dépôt uniforme dudit produit sur ledit élément.

Mit der Erfindung werden ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Kompensation von Leckageverlusten in einem Leitungssystem (14) vorgeschlagen, in dem mindestens eine Verdrängerpumpe (15) und mindestens ein Absperrorgan (16) vorgesehen sind, wobei sich die Erfindung insbesondere für die isobare Dosierung von flüssigen Kunststoffkomponenten bewährt hat. Erfindungsgemäß ist vorgesehen, dass mittels einer Druckmesseinrichtung (17) der Ist-Flüssigkeitsdruck im System ermittelt und bei geschlossenem Absperrorgan (16) durch Betätigung der Verdrängerpumpe (15) auf einen Druck-Sollwert geregelt wird, wobei die zur Erhaltung des Druck-Sollwerts sich ergebende Verlust-Förderrate (Qv) der Verdrängerpumpe bei geschlossenem Absperrorgan einer Soll-Förderrate (Qs) zur Kompensation des bei dem betreffenden Druck-Sollwerts auftretenden Leckageverlustes hinzugefügt wird

A photochromic optical article is provided, which includes: an optical substrate; a photochromic layer over a surface of the optical substrate, wherein the photochromic layer includes a photochromic compound; and a protective layer over the photochromic layer, wherein the protective layer includes a matrix that includes residues of an ethylenically unsaturated radically polymerizable material that includes at least one allophanate group. A method of forming the photochromic optical article is also provided.

An apparatus and associated methods for an automated pipe doping apparatus. The apparatus may include a pump fluidly coupled to a reservoir and a dope manifold, the pump positioned to pump pipe dope from the reservoir to the dope manifold; an ejector coupled to the dope manifold, the ejector positioned to supply a fixed volume of pipe dope from the dope manifold to a dope distribution line; and a pipe dope applicator, the pipe dope applicator fluidly coupled to the dope distribution line positioned to deposit pipe dope on a threaded connection. In some embodiments, the pipe dope applicator may be a fan-pattern nozzle. In other embodiments, the pipe dope applicator may be a mold-type applicator. In other embodiments, the pipe dope applicator may be a brush-type applicator.

The selection and diversion device (20) is provided, in turn, with at least a device (40) for the exclusion of the auxiliary extruder (40); with a bypass duct (23) between the first duct (21) and the second duct (22); and with a flow-regulating diverter valve (VL1) arranged in the intersection point between the first supply duct (21) and a bypass duct (23) connecting the first duct (21) to the second duct (22).

Multi-component liquid spray system including a shim having a first array of first passages and a second array of second passages are described. When the shim is positioned between the first and second die portions of a housing, a first array of first liquid conduits and a second array of second liquid conduits are formed. The first array of first liquid conduits and second array of second liquid conduits are aligned such that at least one of the second liquid conduits is interspersed between successive first liquid conduits. Methods of making such spray systems and methods of using them to produce both multi-component sprays and coated articles are also described.

Method and device to pressure balance hoses at supply of two different components with substantially the same pressure to an extrusion head (13), where the flow of the second component is substantially below the flow of the first component, e.g. at thermosetting plastic extrusion. The first hose (10) for supply of the first component during at least a substantial part of the path to the extrusion head (13) is arranged to enclose the second hose (11) for supply of the second component.
