Abstract: A filter arrangement that is used to filter inflow air of a motor comprises a filter device (1) having a folded filter medium (2) and filter housings (6 and 6′) for accommodating the filter device (1), wherein the folded filter medium (2) has vertical folds (3) having fold walls (4) and fold valleys (5) and the filter housings (6 and 6′) have upper parts (7 and 7′) and lower parts (8 and 8′). A first insertion strut (9) is arranged in the upper part (7), a second insertion strut (10) is arranged in the lower part (8), at least one of the insertion struts (9 and 10) is inserted into one of the fold valleys (5), and the insertion struts (9 and 10) pressurize the fold wall (4) in-between the insertion struts. The present invention improves the seal concept of the prior art and prevents the inflow dust on a non-processed air side from flowing into a pure air side with very high reliability. The filter device (1) has side surface strips (11) and is formed of a compressive material which can be compressed 80% or more of the thickness of itself in a state where the side surface strips are not subjected to a load.

Abstract: An air cleaner assembly can contain an air filter element to filter contaminant material out of an air stream. In some examples, the air cleaner assembly includes a housing with an integrated noise suppression chamber for supplying air to a downstream compressor. The housing forms a cavity into which an air filter element is inserted. Contaminated air enters the housing and passes through the air filter. Filtered air can discharge from the housing through a first opening supplying air to a combustion engine and a second opening supplying air to a compressor. Air supplied to the compressor passes from the interior of the housing containing the filter element and through the integrated noise suppression chamber before being discharged. The acoustic energy released by the filtered air stream exiting the air cleaner assembly may be reduced by passing through the noise suppression chamber.
