    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance catalytic activity by uniformizing acid strength and increasing a supporting amount, by using an organoboron compound as the starting material of a catalytic component and supporting the same in the presence of oxygen-containing gas by a carrier. CONSTITUTION:As an organoboron compound, for example, trimethoxyboron, is used to be supplied onto a carrier and boron oxide is supported in the presence of oxygen-containing gas by said carrier. In this case, as the oxygen- containing gas, inexpensive air is used and B2O3 is supported at 200-400 deg.C by the carrier and subsequently baked at 450 deg.C or less to remove the org. substance remaining on the carrier. By this method, a solid acid catalyst, wherein the support amount of boron oxide is about 1-50 wt. %, is obtained.

A compound having an NH2-atomic group (urea, an inorganic or organic ammonium salt, an ammonium salt of a carboxylic acid or the like) which is solid or liquid under normal pressure at normal temperature is used as the nitrogen source.
