Abstract: PURPOSE: A back seat for an automobile is pushed forward on collision so that the space between a front seat and the back seat is widen. Therefore, a passenger on the back seat is protected more safely. CONSTITUTION: A first actuator(4) having a first piston(3) is installed at the lower part of a back seat, a second actuator(8) having a second piston(7) is installed at the rear part of a seat back(6) connected to the seat with a hinge pin(5). The first actuator is connected to a gas tank(13) including a power supply(9), a collision detecting sensor(10), an operation switch(11), and a power transformer(12) with a connecting hose(14). When a collision force is generated at the vehicle, the collision detecting sensor detects the collision force and the operation switch is operated so that the power is supplied to the power transformer. The current is amplified by the power transformer and is supplied to the gas tank so that the gas in the gas tank is exploded. The exploded gas is supplied to the first actuator through the connecting hose, and piston is operated so that the seat is pushed forward. The seat back is pulled back as much the seat is moved forward so that a passenger is prevented from being collided against the front seat.
