Abstract:
An electromechanically operated door having a control and regulation system for the door, the door for being driven by an electric motor, the movement of the door being controlled by sensors. The control and regulation system is equipped with a microprocessor control. In addition to the normal path of data to the microprocessor control, a dual redundancy is achieved, in that there is a safety monitoring system which receives the same safety-related information as the microprocessor control. This safety monitoring system, for its part, is capable of detecting a fault, i.e. if the microprocessor control system has not shut off the door, the door is shut off by the safety monitoring system, which for its part reports any faults which occur in the system to a fault detection unit, and here again, by means of a redundant shutdown unit, brings the connected motor and thus the door to an immediate stop. In addition to the automatic verification of the safety-related functions, manual verification of the safety functions is also possible. Also contemplated is a control and regulation system, having the above features, for a door.
Abstract:
A brake member for a slide gate mechanism which includes a slanted drive mechanism engaging face adapted to engage at least one drive wheel of the drive mechanism for the slide gate so as to gradually brake the gate. The preferably a pair of opposed drive wheels are adapted to frictionally engage a drive rail on a gate so as to provide a slide gate mechanism. The pair of opposed wheels are spring biased toward the railing to ensure adequate frictional engagement with the rail. Limit switches are disposed to deactivate operation of the drive mechanism and a pair of brake members are disposed so as to positive a slanted drive mechanism engaging face toward the drive wheels of the drive mechanism such that when utilized the brake member operates to gradually brake the gate as the slanted drive mechanism engaging face engages at least one of the drive wheels. Further, the present invention includes a method for controlling the movement of the gate member by providing a switch engaging member on the gate which is adapted to deactivate the operation of the drive mechanism for the gate and further positioning the brake member at a point on the gate after the point at which the gate will normally stop movement. In this manner the brake member operates in emergency situations where the gate does not stop prior to the brake member.
Abstract:
A hard-top type vehicle door window assembly having a tape drive window regulator mechanism with a connector device which is guided on a straight slide pole and permits a change in angularity of the window as it is moved therealong with the window laterally stabilized as it approaches its closed position by cooperation of a stabilizing arrangement between the window and the door's inner panel and also between the connector device and the inner door panel.
Abstract:
In an automobile including a door panel having a window opening and a window glass mounted in the door panel for vertical movement. The window glass is provided at its lower portion with a support bracket carrying a guide follower which is in sliding engagement with a vertical guide rod. A window glass pressing device is secured to the door panel so as to engage the window glass whereby the inward deflection or displacement of the lower portion of the window glass may be prevented.
Abstract:
A station wagon tailgate type vehicle closure system operable in a randomly interchangeable manner in either one of a power mode and a manual mode, the system including a closure, an operator movable from a center position in opening and closing directions, a pin and slot connection between the closure and the operator effecting movement of the closure in the power mode during movement of the operator in either direction away from the center position while permitting lost motion between the closure and the operator during movement of the operator back to the center position, the lost motion also permitting movement of the closure in the manual mode when the operator is in the center position, a manual switch for energizing a motor adapted to drive the operator in either direction away from the center position, a reversing and stopping circuit responsive to deactuation of the manual switch for temporarily energizing the motor to return the operator to the center position, a striker mounted on the vehicle and movable between a center position and an extended position synchronously with movement of the operator, and a latch assembly on the closure engageable on the striker. When the operator is in the center position the striker is in its center position and the closure is movable in the normal manual mode. When the operator is actuated to move the closure toward a closed position the striker moves to the extended position for engagement with the latch assembly whereafter the striker during movement back to the center position pulls the closure to a fully closed position synchronously with movement of the operator back to its center position.
