Abstract: A method for generating a user's own image in a mobile communication terminal is provided to enable a user to generate a user's own image by adding an accidental effect to an image. A method for generating a user's own image in a mobile communication terminal comprises the following several steps. The mobile communication terminal applies a filter scheme to an image to be edited if a user requests the image to be edited(215). The mobile communication terminal extracts color values from each cell constructing the image to which the terminal applies the filter scheme(220). The terminal matches the extracted color values with predetermined pattern images and arranges the colour values(225). The terminal detects its movement and calculates an amount of the movement(235). The terminal applies a predetermined accidental effect to the pattern image where the color values are arranged according to the amount of the movement(240).
