    Abstract: An alkaline sensitive metal cleaning composition is provided. The alkaline sensitive metal cleaning composition contains an alkaline concentrate and a corrosion inhibitor concentrate. The alkaline concentrate includes a source of alkalinity in an amount sufficient to provide a use solution having a pH of at least 10.0, and a first chelant component that exhibits soil removal properties when used at a pH of at least 10.0. The corrosion inhibitor concentrate includes a corrosion inhibitor component for reducing corrosion of alkaline sensitive metals when used in a use solution having a pH of at least 10.0, a second chelant component for stabilizing the corrosion inhibitor in the corrosion inhibitor concentrate when the corrosion inhibitor concentrate is provided at a pH that is less than 8.0, and a surfactant component for providing cleaning properties when used at a pH of at least 10.0. A threshold inhibitor/crystal modifier can be provided in at least one of the alkaline concentrate and the corrosion inhibitor concentrate to stabilize the corrosion inhibitor in a use solution at a pH of at least 10.0. A method for cleaning an alkaline sensitive metal surface and a washing facility are provided.

    Abstract: A concentrate and a ready-to-use or diluted formulation for an aqueous vehic le cleaner can remove a wide range of different types of traffic film using either low pressure application, hand pressure application, water jet spray apparatus, clean-in-place systems or other manual or mechanical washing systems. The compositions may comprise, for example, one or more solutions that each or collectively contain or comprises: a) at least one anionic surfactant; b) at least one poly[oxyalkylene]ammonium cationic surfactant; a nd c) an alkaline agent. Optional additional ingredients may comprise at least one polycarboxylic acid chelating agent (preferably an aminocarboxylic acid chelating agent), at least one non-ionic or amphoteric surfactant, at least one hydrotrope, inorganic and/or organic acids and at least one silicate. Th e alkaline agent may provide a pH (when the finished product is diluted to 0.5 to 5 % by weight in water) will be between about 9 to 13. The concentrate ma y be provided as a one-part or two part solution. Certain formulations have be en found to be shelf stable as one-part concentrate or ready-to-use solutions, even with significantly different properties amongst the components. The compositions of the invention are also used in cleaning processes for surfaces, especially vehicle surfaces in car wash systems. The compositions are used in such processes where there are single or multiple liquid application steps.

    Abstract: The invention is a lubricant concentrate composition, use solution, and method of use. The lubricant includes amine compounds of the formula, R1-O-R2-NH2, R1-O-R2-NH-R3-NH2, and mixtures thereof wherein R1 may be a linear C6-C18 alkyl, R2 may be a linear or branched C1-C8 alkyl, and R3 may be a linear C1-C8 alkyl, and a corrosion inhibitor. The lubricant composition preferably includes a polycarboxylic acid as a corrosion inhibitor. The composition may also include a hydrotrope, stabilizer, and a surfactant to provide detergency to the composition upon dilution and use. The invention also includes a lubricant use solution resulting from dilution of this concentrate.

    Abstract: A touchless car wash composition, that can be made from a concentrate and diluted to use concentration using commonly available service water can comprise an ether amine or diamine in particular a fatty ether amine or diamine. The novel compositions are typically free of hydrocarbon solvents and silicone materials that are common in prior art compositions. The compositions are used in touchless car wash processes in which the materials are sprayed in the form of an aqueous dilute solution to remove soil from the vehicle surface. The aqueous compositions are self removing and very small amounts of the aqueous solutions remain to create water spotting on cleaned vehicle surfaces. The novel compositions of the invention can also contain a variety of other ingredients in a fully formulated system. Such ingredients include rapid dewatering of painted surfaces, improved cleanliness of glass and painted surfaces. A substantial reduction of water spotting and concentrates stability. When used in systems using the direct contact between a brush, the friction between the brush and the vehicle surface is substantially reduced.
