    Abstract: The method of the present invention can be used to monitor and predict the condition of an automatic door of an elevator or more generally an automatic door in a building. In the method, the acceleration or velocity of the door is measured and a dynamic model of the door is created. Using the model, estimated values of acceleration or velocity of the door can be calculated as a function of unknown parameters. One of the unknown parameters is the frictional force acting on the door during movement. By utilizing the estimated acceleration or velocity as well as measured acceleration or velocity values, an error function is obtained, whose minimum value is found using an optimizer. The unknown parameters corresponding to the minimum value indicate the current condition of the door. On the basis of earlier measurement results, it is additionally possible to predict a point of time when a failure is likely to occur in the operation of the door. In addition to unknown force parameters, it is possible, using a genetic algorithm, to determine the operational condition of a door closing device as well.

    Abstract: The method involves defining a cost function containing a cost term. Another cost term that comprises an instantaneous power consumed by the system is added to the function. Elevators are allocated to the calls such that the function is minimized and a set maximum power limit will not exceed at any instant of consideration in the route alternative. A start permission is given to one elevator allocated to the call before departure of the elevator if taking the elevator into use will not result in exceeding the set maximum power limit. An independent claim is also included for a system for controlling an elevator group when the maximum power consumption is limited, comprising an elevator.

    Abstract: A method and a system for the positioning of the elevator car and the door of the elevator in the condition monitoring system are provided. In the method the accelerations of the elevator car and the door of the elevator are measured with a sensor. By integrating the acceleration information two times in relation to time the position information is determined. When the condition monitoring system detects a fault, forecasts a malfunction occurring in the future or detects a significant change in the operation of the elevator or in the measuring signals related to the elevator, it is possible to attach to this information the location of the fault or event i.e. the position of the elevator or the position of a door of a certain floor level on the slide path. The position information can be synchronized to a separate reference point by means of a positioned switch by making an adjustment to the position information at the reference point. The measuring error caused by the misalignment of the position of the sensor is compensated for either with electronics or using a program.
