Consequently, the protruding parts 29, 29 for contact are not worn even the running operation of the slide member 8 is repeated, then the guide roller is always accurately positioned at the time of completion of loading.

These reel bases 16, 16' are so constituted that the reel bases are turnable around fulcra 16a, 16'a supported on a mechanical chassis 17 so as to make the reel bases movable respectively to the two positions. A driving gear 39 which is supported on an oscillating arm 38 and is driven by the capstan motor 29 is meshed with one of the driven gears 19, 19' disposed on the two reel bases described above. The reel bases are rotated by this driving gear.

When the take-up operation further advances to some extent, the upper drum 63 of the drum 57 is rotated in the take-up direction only momentarily. This rotation is performed preferably when the majority of the take-up side of the tape 12 separates from the drum 57 as shown by a two alternate long and short dashes line. When the upper drum 63 is rotated in the tape take-up direction, the other side of the tape 12 other than the take-up side is peeled off from the outer circumferential surface of the head drum 57 by momentary tension caused by the rotation of the upper drum 63 and is taken up around a tape reel 14 as it is.
