Abstract:
An optical delay line device includes a rotatable wheel and one or more prisms mounted about the circumference of the wheel. The one are more prisms are positioned to retroreflect the optical beam that passes approximately tangent to the wheel to cause a delay or phase shift to the beam as the wheel rotates.
Abstract:
The invention relates to determining spectral components (S4, S5) of a response light (S2, S3) originating from a device under test -DUT-, comprising an optical detector (50) and a switchable filter (40), wherein the a switchable filter (40) is optically connected in series with the optical detector (50) and is arranged for receiving the response light 5 (S2, S3) comprising a first spectral component (S4) around a first response wavelength (1) and a second spectral component (S5) around a second response wavelength (2) of the response light (S2, S3), and wherein the switchable filter (40) is adapted for either selecting the first spectral component (S4) or the second spectral component (S5) and transmitting the selected spectral component to the optical detector (50).
Abstract:
Subject of the present invention is to provide an apparatus, an instrument, and a method particularly useful in multiplex PCR applications permitting short sample measuring times of many samples combined with high sensitivity.
Abstract:
A spectroscopic system according to the present invention 10 comprises: an optical fiber bundle 12 whose emitting end 12a is arranged in a vertical direction; a slit 16 which is arranged so as to oppose the emitting end 12a of the optical fiber bundle 12; spectroscopic element arrangement means 20 which can switchably arrange either a first diffraction grating 23 in which grooves extending along the vertical direction are arranged in a horizontal direction at a predetermined groove density, or a second diffraction grating 24 in which grooves extending along the vertical direction are arranged in the horizontal direction at a groove density larger than that of the first diffraction grating 23, on an optical path of light which is emitted from the emitting end 12a of the optical fiber bundle 12 and passes through the slit 16; and a photomultiplier tube 30 in which a plurality of anodes 53 extending along the vertical direction are arranged in the horizontal direction.
Abstract:
The invention is related to a device for measuring circular dichroism (CD) spectrum. The key element of the device of the current invention is the liquid crystal polarization diffraction grating (4). For CD measurement the difference in the absorption of left- and right-circularly polarized monochromatic light is used. A tunable monochromator (2) coupled to a wide spectral bandwidth light source, or other monochromatic or narrow spectral bandwidth light source is placed in front of the investigated sample (3) to provide CD measurements within the required spectral range. The signal with a high signal/noise ratio is detected using two single active-area photodetectors (5) placed at the output of the PDG, connected to downstream electronics (6) and digital processing system (7). CD measurements are achieved with the resolution of 3-5 millidegree or higher.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a lens main part (10) for a spectrometer for mounting other components (18, 24, 28) of a spectrometer, the lens main part being produced as a sandwich construction from at least three flat elements (12, 14, 16) arranged one on top of the other and interconnected, in particular bonded, each of said flat elements (12, 14, 16) having a low coefficient of thermal expansion which is substantially isotropic, at least on one isotropic plane. The flat elements (12, 14, 16) are arranged on top of one another and interconnected such that their isotropic planes run substantially parallel to one another.
