Abstract: A power-operated vehicle door locking assembly including separate inner and outer door locking mechanisms connected with a housing assembly and an electric motorized system oper-able to selectively move (1) the inner door lock-ing mechanism between an inoperative and an inner door locking position in response to inner manual electric motor energizing actuations and (2) the outer door locking mechanism between an inoperative and an outer door locking posi-tions in response to outer manual electric motor energizing actuations. The arrangement is such that an outer manual electric motor energizing actuation without a corresponding inner manual electric motor energizing actuation causes a door latching assembly when in a door latching posi-tion to be incapable of being moved into a door unlatching position by an outer door latch releas-ing mechanism while at the same time the door latching assembly is capable of being moved into the door unlatching position thereof by an inner door latch releasing mechanism.

Abstract: A power door latch assembly consists of a ratchet (50) for engaging a door striker, a pawl (52), a rotary actuator (54) for rotating the ratchet (50) towards the closed position and for disengaging the pawl (52) and a drive actuator (96) for driving the rotary actuator (54). The drive actuator (96) includes a prime mover (98), an output member (104) in engagement with the rotary actuator (54), and a releasable coupling (102) coupled between the prime mover (98) and the output member (104) for selectively transferring torque between the prime mover (98) and the rotary actuator (54). A drive controller (108) is coupled to the releasable coupling (102) and is configur ed for disengaging the prime mover (98) from the rotary actuator (54) when the ratchet (50) is disposed in either the open or closed positions.

Abstract: The present application discloses a power actuator that has a motor having a rotatable motor output member and a clutch assembly. A stamped, cup-shape ferromagnetic coil casing has a generally radially extending base wall and an annular side wall extending generally axially from the base wall. An annular ferromagnetic flux intensifying washer is positioned adjacent to the base wall of the coil casing. An annular coil of electroconductive material is disposed within the casing with the side wall extending in surrounding relation with respect to the coil such that the field generated by the coil flows generally radially through the base wall and generally axially through said side wall. A ferromagnetic armature is in sliding relation with the annular coil and movable between an engaged position and a disengaged position.

Abstract: An article including a panel structure mountable in an automobile vehicle to form a part of the vehicle interior thereof, and a process for making the same are disclosed. According to this process, an outer layer defining at least a portion of the exposed exterior surface of the structure is prepared by applying a first composition containing a thermoplastic polyurethane and a heat-activated crosslinking agent onto a mold surface and thereafter drying the composition. Next, a second composition comprising (i) a poly(vinyl chloride) resin and at least one plasticizer and/or (ii) a thermoplastic polyurethane resin material is gelled onto an inner surface of the outer layer while on the outer layer is retained on the mold surface. The gelled composition is then fused to form an inner layer interfacially chemically bonded to the outer layer. The layered composite structure is united with the reinforcing substrate so that the reinforcing substrate serves to reinforce the outer layer. The exposed exterior surface of the panel structure simulates the appearance and feel of authentic leather, while the inner layer and an optional semi-rigid polyurethane cellular foam intermediate layer provide a compressing feel to the exposed portion.

Abstract: A secondary release mechanism for a vehicle hood latch has a pivotally mounted secondary latch which is rotatable between a latching position and a unlatching position and biased towards the latching position. A pivotally mounted release arm is rotatable between a retracted position, a deployed position and a releasing position and biased to the standby position. A pivotally mounted release lever is rotatable between a release position, a standby position and a retract position. The release lever has a cam surface for engaging a hood of the vehicle as the hood moves between the fully latched condition and a secondary latched condition responsively rotating the release lever between the standby position and the retract position. The release lever operably engages the secondary latch as the release lever rotates from the standby position to the release position. The release arm engages the release lever wherein responsive movement of the release lever between the standby position to the retract position responsively effects movement of the release arm between the deployed position and the retracted position and movement of the release arm from the deployed position to the releasing position responsively effects movement of the release lever rotating the secondary latch from the latching position to the unlatching position.

Con la posicion desembragada, los rodillos descansan contra el primer impulsor y permiten que el segundo impulsor gire con relacion al primero. Con la posicion embragada, los rodillos interconectan el primer y segundo impulsores para un movimiento concurrente relativo. El montaje de embrague se caracteriza por el primer impulsor, el cual incluye cuatro superficies de impulsion (43) y el segundo impulsor, el cual incluye cuatro correspondientes topes (48). Las superficies de impulsion embragan y mueven los rodillos desde la posicion desembragada hacia la Posicion embragada en respuesta al movimiento del impulsor de entrada. Los topes entonces bloquean los rodillos entre el primer y segundo impulsores para acoplar el impulsor de entrada con el impulsor de salida, para asi transferir el movimiento del impulsor de entrada al impulsor de salida. Abstract: A latch and mounting pin assembly (20) includes a latch housing (22) with an inner plate mounted to one side (28) and an outer plate mounted to an opposing side (26). Each of the plates include three apertures which are aligned with each other. Three mounting pins (36) are included with each pin extending through a corresponding pair of apertures. A head (38) is disposed on one end of each of the pins for abutting the outer plate. The latch and pin assembly is characterized by each mounting pin having an enlarged barrel portion extending from the head to a shoulder. The shoulder abuts the inner plate to orient the outer plate relative to the inner plate. There is also provided a threaded shank (50) extending outward from the shoulder to provide a means for mounting the assembly to a frame of a vehicle.
