    Abstract: 15,121. Dodd, J. July 9. Carding - engines. -Relates to means for securing card clothing to the cylinders, doffers, workers, and other parts of carding- engines. The usual plug-holes fare made to taper from both the outer and inner surfaces of the cylinder, so that, when the plug h is driven into the hole and expanded by means of the wedge j, it will assume a double conical form and be firmly held in position. By the use of this invention, the inner surface of the cylinder may be turned true and smooth without endangering the security of the plugs.

Tramways, paving.-In order to provide a more permanent paving for tramway pavements and the like, cast iron or steel supports A, formed integrally with a base-plate B, are placed upon the usual concrete foundation C so that their curved corners E fit under the upper flanges of the rails G. Wooden blocks F, which are also shaped to fit under the rails, are placed between the supports A. The supports A are tapered inwards towards the centre D of their depth, and the interstices between them and the wooden blocks are filled in with pitch or other material.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to processes for the production of microalgae, cyanobacteria and/or metabolites thereof. Described herein is a process involving the use of a stimulus applied to a microalgal or cyanobacterial culture to enhance the production of one or more metabolites. Also described herein, is a process for the production of microalgae and/or cyanobacteria comprising an adaptation stage wherein an algal/cyanobacterial culture is grown on a process water feedstock and/or under light emitting diodes (LEDs) emitting light within the spectrum of light wavelengths between around 400 nm and 700 nm, and a production phase, wherein the microalgae or cyanobacteria are grown on the same process water feedstock and/or under the same light conditions used in the adaptation stage. The invention also relates to specific microalgal strains.
