Abstract: A source of IR radiation for use with a gas analyzer comprises a sealed-off enclosure (4) containing at least one molecular, IR-active gas which, upon excitation, is capable of emitting IR-radiation of a known, discrete spectral distribution. The excitation is effected by electrical discharges taking place in a limited portion (32) only of the sealed-off enclosure (4), the rest of the enclosure serving as reservoir (34) of the gas. The electrodes (20) producing the discharges are disposed outside of the enclosure (4). A gas analyzer (2,4,6,8,10,12) incorporating the source is also described.

Abstract: A fluid filtering device for separating liquid from gases to be analyzed, including a tubular housing (2) defining a space (4) therein and having inlet and outlet end portions (6, 8) delimiting passageways (10, 12) in fluid communication with the space (4), the portions (6, 8) being connectable between a source of fluid and a gas analyzer, and a liquid/gas hydrophobic hollow fiber filter element (18) located within the tubular housing preventing material other than gases to pass therethrough. The tubular housing (2) and filter element (18) form a small volume within the housing, and the device is effectively operable independent of its orientation, or field of gravitation acting thereon.
