Abstract:
A burner for the partial oxidation of liquid, carbonaceous fuel with steam and an oxygen-containing gas a well as the process in which this burner is used, wherein the parts of the outlet orifice of the burner directed towards the combustion chamber are wholly or partly provided with a coating or with a diffusion layer for protection against thermal load and/or corrosion.
Abstract:
A reactor is described for the production of C2 to C8 olefins from gaseous oxygenate and H2O and one or more material flows containing C2 C4, C5, C6, C7, C8 olefin and paraffin at 400° to 470° C., wherein several reaction stages which the material flow can pass through from the top to the bottom, each consisting of a support base with a catalyst layer situated on it, are arranged in a closed, upright container. In order to be able in each case to lower the temperature of the reaction mixture leaving the reaction stages before it enters into the next reaction stage, it is provided that each support base consists of cells which are placed closely next to each other with no gaps and which are securely attached to each other and filled with catalyst, and in the space formed by two neighboring reaction stages, respectively, an assembly of nozzle tubes is installed for spraying a liquid phase containing H2O and DME and/or MEOH, using a water-saturated gas phase containing mainly DME and/or MEOH, in the direction of the following reaction stage downstream.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an optical waveguide and a semifinished product for producing an optical waveguide having optimized diffraction properties, comprising a trench structure that has a radius-dependent graded refractive index curve and/or a concentric depressed refractive index profile within a core zone (2) and/or within a cladding zone (4). In one embodiment of the optical waveguide and semifinished product, the structure is formed from a succession of differently doped regions containing dopants that are introduced into a base matrix and lower and/or increase the refractive index.
Abstract:
A method for producing a glass fiber, through longitudinally drawing a preform in a drawing kiln, wherein cooling the glass fiber is performed in at least three time periods, wherein the glass fiber is exposed to a first time based cooling rate above a crystallization temperature range, to a second time based cooling rate that is greater than the first time based cooling rate within the crystallization temperature range, and to a third time based cooling rate which is smaller than the second time based cooling rate below the crystallization temperature range.
