Abstract: A backlight assembly is provided to suppress a brightness difference between a surrounding region of a light source and the other region by forming grooves on both lateral surfaces of each of a plurality of pole-shaped light-guiding bodies. A backlight assembly is disposed below an LCD panel to supply light to the LCD panel. A bottom chassis is disposed below the backlight assembly to receive the backlight assembly. In the light-guiding body, the depth of the groove gradually increases from the end portion to the center portion in the longitudinal direction of the light-guiding body.
