Abstract: A steam generating apparatus and a cooking apparatus having the same are provided to rapidly wash the water container and improve the sanitary effect by separating the water container from the cavity and easily separating the induction heating member and the barrier from the water container. A steam generating apparatus comprises: a water container(20) whose upper part is opened; a cover(70) for sealing the upper part of the water container; a barrier(60) placed in the water container to divide the inside of the water container into a water supply unit and a steam generating unit; an induction coil(40) arranged at the outside of the water container; and an induction heating member(50) placed between the barrier and the induction coil in the water container and heated by the induction coil to generate the steam at the steam generating unit. The barrier is vertically placed at the induction coil, and the steam generating unit has a smaller volume than the water supply unit. A support member(45) is installed to fix the induction coil.
