Abstract: 로봇청소기 및 그 제어 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명에 따른 로봇청소기는, 로봇청소기 본체에 착탈 가능하도록 마련되며 물걸레가 탈부착되는 물걸레판; 및 상기 로봇청소기 본체에 상기 물걸레판이 장착되었는지 여부를 감지하는 물걸레판 감지부;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 본 발명에 의하면, 로봇청소기 본체에 물걸레판이 장착되었는지 여부를 감지할 수 있고, 이로 인하여 로봇청소기 본체에 장착된 물걸레판이, 물걸레판을 장착한 상태에서 주행되기에 부적합한 피청소면에 접촉됨을 방지할 수 있다.
