There is provided a transmission diversity system. In the case where an MS supporting a different antenna transmission diversity scheme enters the service area of a 4-antenna transmission diversity UTRAN, the UTRAN can transmit pilot signals and common data signals to the MS without the need of modifications to the MS. Therefore, power is distributed among antennas of the UTRAN and system capacity is increased.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A two-dimension intereleaving device is provided to maximize a minimum distance by preventing a component coder from being reset at a zero state. CONSTITUTION: A two-dimension intereleaving device comprises a plurality of address generators(711-71N), a controller(721) and a selector(731). Each of the address generators(711-71N) generates a read address according to a predetermined interleaving rule in an address generation region of a corresponding group. The controller(721) controls multiplexing of the selector(731), and the selector(731) selectively outputs the read addresses from the address generators(711-71N) under the control of the controller(721). The read address thus selected is used to read input frame data sequentially stored in an interleaver memory.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for normalizing a state value of a component decoder in a mobile communication system is provided to remove an error according to an overflow and efficiently use a memory by normalizing an accumulation state value performed for a decoding. CONSTITUTION: A metric value for a virtual path and a competitor path metric value are existed in each state. State values of a current state are inputted to a corresponding subtracter(301). A comparator(117) detects the metric value for a virtual path among state values of current states, respectively. If the metric value for a virtual path is detected, the comparator(117) searches a minimum metric value for a virtual path among detected survive path metric values and outputs the searched minimum metric value for a virtual path to all subtracters(301). Subtracters(301) receive the corresponding metric value for a virtual path and the minimum metric value for a virtual path and subtract the minimum metric value for a virtual path from the corresponding metric value for a virtual path to output a normalized state value.

CONSTITUTION: A selecting signal generator outputs a signal. An inverter outputs the inverted signal in response to the output signal of the selecting signal generator. A first switch(55-1) is switched off in response to a reset signal. A timing controller includes a column address generator. The column address generator outputs a second column address and outputs a first column address.

본 발명에 따른 수신장치가, 수신신호를 역확산하여 심볼열을 가지는 심볼데이터로 복조하는 수신기와, 상기 심볼열에서 인접하는 두 심볼의 상관성에 따라 상기 수신신호의 반복특성을 판단하고, 상기 판단된 반복특성과 호셋업시 결정된 초기 데이터율을 가지고 상기 수신신호의 데이터율을 검출하는 검출기를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 즉, 본 발명은 복호이전의 데이터의 특성을 보고 데이터율을 검출하기 때문에, 기존의 사후검출(post detection)방식을 사용함으로써 나타났던 불필요한 복호과정들을 제거할수 있고, 전력소모를 최소화할수 있다.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for detecting a data rate of a wireless communication system is provided to minimize a decoding time and power consumption and improve the efficiency of a system by detecting a data rate before a decoding procedure and performing a necessary decoding using detected information. CONSTITUTION: A receiver(1401) despreads a receiving signal and demodulates the receiving signal as symbol data having a symbol series. The first correlater(1401) correlates symbols for an odd time and symbols for an even time in the symbol series, accumulates the correlated symbol during a frame interval, averages the accumulated value, and obtains the first mean value. The second correlater(1402) correlates symbols for 4n+2 time and symbols for 4n+3 time, accumulates the correlated value, averages the accumulated value, and obtains the second mean value. A data rate detector(1404) compares the first mean value and the second mean value with a certain reference value, judges repetition characteristic of the receiving signal, and determines a data rate of the receiving signal using the repetition characteristic and an initial data rate.
