Abstract: A device and a method for reducing a zapping time in broadcasting by using an additional channel are provided to reduce time required for display processing by using an additional clean channel for channel conversion, thereby realizing the channel conversion within a short time without waiting. In a method for reducing a zapping time in digital broadcasting channel conversion, an additional channel for channel conversion is set in a single physical channel and transmitted with digital broadcasting standard channels. The additional channel, in which display processing is finished(S630), is displayed on a screen(S640) for the time required for display processing regarding the transmitted standard channels, in response to user's channel conversion request(S610,S650-S660).
