Abstract: PURPOSE: An optical recording medium having a wobble header area and a device and a method for recording data thereof are provided to make geometry of the header area more uniform, so as to prevent the reduction of reflective lightness upon recording, and to lower recording power for the header area when recording user data on the optical recording medium, so as to prevent the deterioration of the header area. CONSTITUTION: A single wobble signal having a single frequency is recorded in a groove track and a land track. An over-writable phase change layer is formed on the groove track and land track, thereby displaying a mark through the phase change when user data are recorded. A track is formed in a header area consecutively to the groove track and land track of an adjacent user data area, and a wobble header signal including header information is recorded in the track. For classification, the groove track and land track arranged in the user data area are called a wobble track, and the track formed in the header area is called a wobble header track. As the wobble header signal recorded in the wobble header track includes various header information, the wobble header signal is a signal having a higher frequency in comparison with a wobble signal recorded in the wobble track.
