Abstract:
A near-field optical recording/reproducing apparatus and a tilt control method thereof are provided to prevent a collision between an information storage medium and the solid immersion lens by executing tilt control at the position to increase a tilt margin. A near-field optical recording/reproducing apparatus comprises a light source(21), an objective lens, an optical detector, a signal processing/determining unit(150), and a control unit. The objective lens condenses the light emitted from the light source and transmits near field light to an information storage medium. The optical detector detects a gap error signal used for air gap control between the information storage medium and the objective lens. The signal processing/determining unit determines tilt control position based on an edge voltage obtained by using the gap error signal. The control unit regulates relative tilt between the information storage medium and the objective lens about the tilt control position.

An apparatus and a method for reproducing an optical disk are provided to check signal quality based on reproducing frequency deviation of the optical disk and on an increase/decrease in RPM(Revolution Per Minute) of a spindle motor so as to filter a signal effectively and prevent degradation of the signal. An apparatus for reproducing an optical disk comprises a pickup part(210), a signal converter(220), an amplifier(230), an equalizer(240), a control part(250), and a signal processor(260). The control part includes a judging part(252), a signal quality checking part(254), and a section determining part(256). The judging part checks whether an inserted optical disk belongs to a new kind. The signal quality checking part checks signal quality based on reproducing frequency deviation of the optical disk by measuring the signal quality with increasing and decreasing RPM of a spindle motor based on the present frequency. The section determining part determines how many areas the optical disk is divided into.

A method for improving reproducibility of an optical information storage media reproducing apparatus is provided to reduce/delay a servo hold time and to apply track and focus offsets when the defect process fails, thereby increasing the defect handling performance. A method for improving reproducibility of an optical information storage media reproducing apparatus comprises the steps of: uploading an optical disk(S10); generating focus and tracking servo error signals to adjust the servo automatically(S20); holding the same servo as the track error servo during a defect detecting time(S40); reading data of the optical disk while holding the servo(S50); applying track and focus offsets to a servo value before detecting the defect(S70); delaying the servo hold(S80); reading the data with the track and focus offsets reflected(S90); recovering the track and focus offsets into a normal value(S100); and, if the data is not normally read out, re-reading the data while alternating between a hold-off state and a hold-on state(S110,S120).

A recording method, a recording device, and an optical recording medium thereof are provided to improve quality of a play signal for a high-speed recording medium. A recording method includes a step of generating a box-type recording pattern including a first pulse(70) with a first power level(Pw1) and length(72) decided according to the length of a recorded mark, and a second pulse(80) with a lower power level(Pw2) than the first power level; and a step of recording data according to the recording pattern. The second pulse is arranged at a rear portion of the recording pattern to control a rear part of the mark. A recording device comprises a recording waveform generating unit and a pickup unit. The recording waveform generating unit generates the box-type recording pattern having the first pulse with the first power level, and the second pulse with the lower power level than the first power level. The pickup unit records the data according to the recording pattern.

A near-field gap pull-in method and optical disc apparatus performing the same are provided to perform gap servo in the linear changing range of gap error signal and prevent collision between SIL and disc by overshoot. A near-field gap pull-in method comprises: a step of judging whether the light condensed in a disc based on the increase of actuator is near-field light using a gap error signal; a step of calculating the range of driving voltage value of actuator in a regular section when the condensed light is considered as the near-field light; and a step of gap-pulling in the disc in the section between calculated ranges.

An optical disc unit and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent damage and perform a stabilized gap pull-in method by preventing collision between a light converging element and a disc due to overshoot in the gap pull-in. A driving method of an optical disc unit comprises: a step(1002) for detecting gap between a light converging element and a disc with raising an actuator up in a disc direction by applying actuator drive voltage; a step(1004) for holding the drive voltage value of the actuator when the gap between the light converging element and the disc becomes a first distance which is shorter than a distance of a near field initial point; and a step(1005) for sensing shaking of the disc while holding the drive voltage value and disclosing a gap servo when the gap between the light converging element and the disc becomes a second distance which is shorter than the first distance.

본 발명에 따라 고배속 기록 매체로부터 재생 신호의 품질을 향상시킬 수 있기록 방법, 기록 장치 및 광기록 매체가 개시된다. 본 발명에 따른 광 기록 매체에 데이터를 기록하는 방법은, 기록할 마크의 길이에 따라 결정되는 길이를 가지며 제1 파워 레벨을 가지는 제1 펄스 및 상기 제1 파워 레벨보다 낮은 파워 레벨을 가지는 제2 펄스로 구성된 박스형 기록 패턴을 생성하는 단계와, 상기 기록 패턴에 따라 데이터를 기록하는 단계를 포함한다.

PURPOSE: A protecting apparatus and a method for a half/full bridge circuit which have a first switching unit and a second switching unit connected to the first switching unit in series in an image forming apparatus are provided to stop a switch controller by installing an arm short detection unit. CONSTITUTION: In a protecting apparatus and a method for a half/full bridge circuit which have a first switching unit and a second switching unit connected to the first switching unit in series in an image forming apparatus, a operation processing unit(110) generates a first PWM signal and outputs it. A dead time insertion part(120) delays a time when the first PWM signal and second PWM signal are reached from a low signal to a high signal. A switching controller(130) compares a first signal with a second signal to generate first and second driving signals. An arm short detection unit(140) stops the switch controller by outputting a disable signal to the switch controller according to the first and second driving signal.
