A system and a method for a digital video broadcast are provided to add a field for storing information on sub-services to an ESG(Electronic Service Guide) fragment to use several sub-services in a selected service when a specific channel is selected, thereby supplying the sub-services as well as a main service to a user. A digital broadcast station(300) adds sub-schedule ID fields, in which information on at least one sub-service related to a main service is stored, to a service information fragment for providing information on services. Sub-schedule ID values are set for the sub-schedule ID fields to schedule ID values included in a sub-service information fragment, and then transmits ESG data including the generated sub-service information fragment. A digital broadcast receiving terminal(350) receives the ESG data, checks information on at least one sub-service related to a main service through the sub-service information fragment if the main service is selected, and displays the checked sub-services and the main service on a screen at the same time.

A method and a system for transmitting electronic service guide related data in a portable broadcasting service are provided to reduce communication network usage cost by quickly acquiring ESG data when offering a portable broadcasting service through communication network. A broadcast providing server receives an ESG(Electronic Service Guide) data request(301). An ESG query received from a mobile terminal is analyzed. The version of requested ESG data is grasped(303). The broadcast providing server collects the grasped ESG data(305). The ESG data group file in which the broadcast providing server is made up is transmitted to the mobile terminal through the communications network. The header of the received ESG data group file is analyzed. The mobile terminal piles ESG data group.

A method and a system for transmitting notification data in a DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld) system are provided to utilize a compression method defined by the standards such as Gzip or BiM as it is by transmitting XML type notification data by using the structure of an ESG(Electronic Service Guide) container. A DVB-H transmission server(110) configures an ESG such that an ESG container includes notification data, and transmits the same. A DVG-H reception terminal(120) analyzes the ESG container of the ESG received from the DVB-H transmission server(110) and acquires notification data from a structure in which the notification exists among a plurality of structures included in the ESG container. The DVB-H transmission server(110) sets one of fragments as a notification fragment, includes and transmits the notification data in the notification fragment wherein the fragments are included in a structure of an ESG data repository type among the plurality of structures constituting the ESG container.

A method and a system for providing a similarity broadcasting service in a DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcasting-Hand held) system are provided to enable a DVB-H receiving terminal to attempt connection with a linked service by using service linking information during handover, roaming or receiving errors by including information about the other service linked with an arbitrary DVB-H service in ESG data(Electronic Service Guide) and transmitting the information, thereby roaming can be possible. A DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcasting-Hand held) transmitting server(110) configures and broadcasts ESG(Electronic Service Guide) data including service linking information including access information and information about at least one or more linked services set to an arbitrary DVB-H service(201,203). A DVB-H receiving terminal(120) receives and stores the ESG data(205). If receiving intensity of a signal is weaker than a pre-designated reference while receiving the DVB-H service, the DVB-H receiving terminal detects service linking information, corresponding to a currently-received DVB-H service, from the ESG data(207). After that, the terminal stops the currently-received DVB-H service, and receives a linked service included in the service linking information by referring to the detected service linking information(209).

A method of constructing EPG(Electronic Program Guide) information including advertising information in a terrestrial DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) system is provided to offer advertising information through EPG information to create a new profit model. A service provider of a terrestrial DMB system extracts information required to construct EPG information to generate XML(eXtensible Markup Language) schemas with respect to ensemble information, service information and program information(31). It is confirmed whether advertising information is provided through the EPG information(32). When the advertising information is provided through the EPG information, the advertising information is extracted(33). An XML-based element for advertisement is defined using the advertising information and an XML schema of an attribute type for the element is constructed(34). The XML-based element is included in at least one of the XLM schemas with respect to the ensemble information, the service information and the program information, and provided to a service user(35).

PURPOSE: An expert system for deciding a bad HDD(Hard Disc Drive) and a method for the same are provided to analyze a cause of a bad HDD in a HDD manufacturing process by using an expert system for deciding the bad HDD. CONSTITUTION: A rule file(51) forms a repairing decision procedure and describes a signal/branch relationship of each procedure. An inference engine(50) performs a bad decision process by analyzing the rule file(51). A pattern recognition portion(56) recognizes a distribution form of defects on a disc by analyzing a defect coordinates file. A defect information extraction module(52) extracts HDD data from an object HDD. A badness verification module(54) executes a test program for diagnosing and verifying a state of the HDD. A medium file(55) stores temporarily the information of the defect information extraction module(52) and the badness verification module(54). The defect information extraction module(52) and the badness verification module(54) are interfaced with the inference engine(50) and the pattern recognition portion(56) by the medium file(55).
