A liquid crystal display device and a control method thereof are provided to improve brightness of the display device by regulating a black section according to the brightness of an image signal. A liquid crystal display device includes an LCD panel(100), a gate driver(110), a data driver(120), and a controller(160). The LCD panel includes gate lines, data lines, and pixels. The gate driver applies first and second gate signals to the gate lines during one frame period. The data driver applies a black signal to the pixels corresponding to the first gate signal and applies the data signal to the pixels corresponding to the second gate signal. The controller controls the gate and data drivers, so that a black period is regulated according to a brightness of a current frame. During the black period, a black signal is applied during one frame. During a data period, the data signal is applied to the LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel.

A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to improve a visibility transmittance of the display device by generating an impulsive data voltage by adding a normal data voltage to a block data voltage, and applying the impulse data voltage. A liquid crystal display device includes plural pixels(PX), gate and data lines, and a data driver(500). The pixels are arranged in a matrix formation. The gate lines(G1-Gn) and the data lines(D1-Dm) are connected to the pixels. The data driver sequentially applies a normal data voltage and a block data voltage to the data lines during one frame. A second period, during which the block data voltage is applied, is shorter than a first period, during which the normal data voltage is applied.

A display apparatus is provided to improve color contrast ratio by generating gamma voltages according to colors and by applying the generated gamma voltages. A display apparatus includes a display panel(100), a memory(410), a timing controller(400), a variable gamma voltage generating unit(520), and a data driver(300). The display panel displays images through plural pixels, which are formed by gate and data lines. The memory stores minimum brightness resistance according to the display panel. The timing controller outputs image data and reads the minimum brightness resistance. The variable gamma voltage generating unit generates plural gamma voltages within a voltage range corresponding to the minimum brightness resistance. The data driver converts image data outputted from the timing controller into data voltages based on the gamma voltages and outputs the converted data voltages to the data lines.

A device and a method for paging a demand having real-time response in an embedded system are provided to calculate only the address of fault page in an abort mode without access to a non-volatile storage device, and access the non-volatile storage device after a previous state is returned from the abort mode when page fault occurs in demand paging. A controller(620) processes task of a high priority during page access by calculating only the address generating page fault in an abort mode and processing the page access in a normal mode when the page fault is generated during a predetermined task in the normal mode. A storing part(610) stores a program for the controller and temporarily stores data generated while the program is executed. The controller performs the page access by processing interrupt after changing a system processing mode into a system mode, and returning the system processing mode to the normal mode when an interrupt processing request is generated during the page access. The normal mode is a user or service mode.

A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to decrease an image blurring at a moving caption by adding a white color to an edge between an image and a caption. A liquid crystal display device includes an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel(100), a light source(400), first and second data driving units(200,210), and a controller(500). The LCD panel includes an image region and a caption region. The light source irradiates light with different colors on the LCD panel. The first data driving unit applies image data to the image region. The second data driving unit applies caption data to the caption region. The controller sequentially supplies 3-color light on the image region for respective frames. The controller sequentially supplies 4-color light on the caption region for respective frames.

A liquid crystal display and a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display are provided to reduce flicker and a residual image due to voltage differences by gray scales through asymmetrical gamma strings. A liquid crystal display panel(300) has pixels(170) defined by crossing of gate lines and data lines. A gray scale voltage generator(800) generates a plurality of gray scale voltages, and has a gray scale voltage generating element interworking with a common voltage by gray scales, wherein a mean of a positive voltage and a negative voltage of one gray scale is displaced according to gray scales. A driving voltage generator(700) generates a gate on voltage. A gate driving unit(400) applies the gate on voltage to the gate lines. A data driving unit(500) receives the gray scale voltage from the gray scale voltage generator for applying a data voltage to the pixels. A signal control unit(600) controls the gate driving unit and the data driving unit.

본 발명은 규격화되어 공급되는 휴대폰 충전기를 이용하여 1차 전지 및 2차 전지 겸용 휴대용 기기 내부에 수납되는 2차 전지를 선택적으로 충전할 수 있는 충전장치 및 이를 구비하는 디지털 카메라에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 의한 1차 전지 및 2차 전지 겸용 휴대용 기기의 충전장치는, 1차 전지 및 2차 전지 겸용 휴대용 기기의 내부에 수납되는 1차 전지 또는 2차 전지와 외부로부터 연결되는 충전기 사이에 연결되어 2차 전지를 선택적으로 충전하는 충전장치로서, 휴대용 기기의 내부에 수납되는 전지의 전극 단자들과 연결되는 전지 연결 단자부; 및 전지 연결 단자부와 충전기 사이에 연결되어, 휴대용 기기의 내부에 수납되는 전지가 1차 전지인 경우에 충전기로부터 1차 전지에 전류가 공급되지 아니하도록 하고, 휴대용 기기의 내부에 수납되는 전지가 2차 전지인 경우에 충전기로부터 2차 전지에 전류가 공급되도록 하는 스위칭 수단을 구비한다. 본 발명에 따르면, 규격화되어 공급되는 휴대폰 충전기를 이용하여 1차 전지 및 2차 전지 겸용 휴대용 기기 내부에 수납되는 2차 전지를 선택적으로 충전할 수 있다.
