Abstract: A scanner and an image forming apparatus with the scanner are provided to reduce the thickness of the scanner by using a plurality of paper-discharging rollers. A scanner includes a document feeder(120) on which a document to be read is placed, an image sensor(113) for reading the bottom face of the document, a plurality of paper-discharging rollers(140,150) for changing the moving direction of the document along a reverse C-shaped path and discharging the document through a paper outlet, and a document discharging plate(130) located on the document feeder. The plurality of paper-discharging rollers is vertically arranged and rotated in the same direction. The paper-discharging rollers respectively include shafts(141,151) and a plurality of roller bodies arranged in the length direction of the shafts. The roller body of a paper-discharging roller does not come into contact with the roller body of a neighboring paper-discharging roller. The distance between the shafts of neighboring paper-discharging rollers is shorter than the distance corresponding to the sum of the radius of the roller body of a paper-discharging roller and the radius of the roller body of a neighboring paper-discharging roller.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A paper conveying apparatus for a printer is provided to improve a printing status of a paper by preventing both side ends of the paper from being sagged when the paper is conveyed. CONSTITUTION: A paper conveying apparatus for a printer includes a conveying roller(6), a frictional roller(5), a frictional holder(3), an actuator(4), inner and upper guide members(1,2) and an anti-sagging member(7). The conveying roller(6) conveys papers. The frictional roller(5) makes contact with the conveying roller(6) with predetermined contact force so as to easily convey the papers. The frictional holder(3) guides papers to be conveyed. The papers are introduced into a printer head by means of the inner and upper guide members(1,2).
