    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for implementing a block copy supporting a blending between blocks using a variable scan order are provided to support a blending between blocks by varying a scan order of data in accordance with a relative position of source blocks and destination blocks without an additional blend memory and an increasing of a band width of a memory. CONSTITUTION: A scan order deciding unit(51) decides a scan order of blocks in accordance with a relative position of an SRC and a DST. The relative position is compared/discriminated by comparing the sizes(positions) of a horizontal component and a vertical component of the left upper end address of each block. If the order of a scan is decided, a reading address generator(52) of an address generator(50) creates a scan starting address of the SRC in accordance with the scan order. A bit shift unit(54) receives a source address read in the starting address and discriminates a shifting or not in accordance with the relative position of an SRC and a DST and transmits the processed data. A blending unit(30) receives the data outputted from the bit shift unit(54) and divides the data by sources in a multiplexer(32) and stores the data in the first source buffer(33) and the second source buffer(34). The data stored in the first source buffer(33) are applied to the first multiply(21) and multiplied as alpha times, and the data stored in the second source buffer(34) are applied to the second multiply(22) and multiplied as (1-alpha) times. The data outputted from the multiply(21) are blended by being added by an adder(23). A bit mask unit(55) receives the blended data and discriminates a making or not of data applied in accordance with relative position of an SRC and a DST and records the data in an SDRAM(60).
