Abstract: A method and an apparatus for derate matching in a communication system are provided to reduce derate matching time by dividing received large data into blocks and executing derate matching to data of each block at the same time. A derate matching device includes a data dividing unit(210), derate matching units(240_1-240_K+1), and a data combining unit(250). The data dividing unit divides received data into blocks and outputs data belonging to each block. The derate matching units receive data belonging to each corresponding block to perform derate matching and output derate matched data.
