    Abstract: PURPOSE: A particle image velocity meter system for a towing tank is provided to offer an exact model ship experiment by changing a fixed posture of a model ship according to the experiment condition because the model ship is fixed at a desired posture by using confinement equipments. CONSTITUTION: A particle image velocity meter system for a towing tank comprises a measurement equipment(100), a transfer equipment(200), and a plurality of confinement equipments(300). The measurement equipment is projects a laser to a model ship. The measurement equipment takes a photograph of a region around the model ship in which laser is projected. The transfer equipment is joined to the measurement equipment, thereby being installed in a pair of guide beams(400) to be horizontally moved toward the front and rear sides. The plurality of confinement equipments is installed one of the guide beams to be horizontally moved toward the front and rear sides. The plurality of confinement equipments fixes the model ship at a desired posture.
