    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for producing a transgenic plant having cold and freezing tolerance is provided to ensure excellent germination rate. CONSTITUTION: A transgenic plant having cold and freezing tolerance is prepared by transforming with a recombinant vector containing Oriza sativa-derived glycine-rich RNA-binding protein(OsGRP) gene. The OsGRP gene has a base among sequence numbers 1-6. The plant is Arabidopsis thaliana. A composition with cold and freezing tolerance in a plant contains OsGRP gene.
