Abstract: Disclosed is a circuit and a method to control operation of high speed paper jogging in a paper jogging system. The circuit comprises a central processor(401), a system interface(408), a feed motor drive(402), a feed motor(403), a jog motor driver(404), a paper passing sensor(406), a jog slot sensor(407) and paper size sensors(409, 410, 411). The size of paper is sensed by the sensors(409, 410, 411) when the papers to be jogged are distributed by the feed motor drive(402). Also, a jogging bar is moved to the appropriate location according to the sensed paper size. When the papers have been distributed, the jogging bar simultaneously performed the jogging of papers by the jog motor driver(404). After the jogging operation, the jogging bar is moves to a standby location. Thereby, an operation cycle of the jogging can be shortened so that high speed jogging is performed.

Abstract: In a method of controlling a sorter with a stacker function, the sorter have a central processing unit controlling the overall operation, a groove sensor detecting a home of each bin tray and outputting the signal to the central processing unit; a stack sensor sensing a stack position indicating piece and sending the signal to the central processing unit, comprising the steps of: initializing the system; aligning the bin trays on the home position; setting non-sort mode and detecting a paper discharging signal and a mode change signal; if sensing the paper discharging signal, driving a feed motor and conveying the paper determining if there is a paper jam; determining if the corresponding paper is completely discharged and increasing the number of held paper by one; determining if the number of held paper reaches to maximum, and when the number of paper does not exceed the maximum, repeating the above steps from the step of detecting the paper discharging signal to hold the next paper; when the number of paper exceeds the maximum, checking the condition of the stack sensor and the home sensor and performing a bin down routine to descend the bin trays, and then clearing the number of held paper and repeating the steps of conveying paper, checking if there is a paper jam; when turning on the stack sensor and the home sensor by the stack position indicating piece, determining the lowest position of the stacker function performance and immediately shifting the paper discharging signal detecting step.
