Abstract: PURPOSE: Biomolecule interaction using an atomic force microscopy is provided to obtain a cantilever with fixed end and free end, the surface of which is chemically transformed due to dendrons. CONSTITUTION: A cantilever(50) includes fixed end and free end. The surface of the free end is chemically transformed due to the combination with respect to ends in the branched part of dendrons. The ends in the linear part of the dendrons are combined by probe nucleotide. A target nucleotide is fixed to a substrate(20). A modulator modulates the relative position and direction of the cantilever and the substrate. A detector measures a physical variable related to the combination of the probe and target nucleotides.
