    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a novel saururic acid represented by the formula (I): GIMSIVKDVAK-X-AAKEAAKGALSTLSCKLAKTC, inhibiting the adhesion of cancer cell to laminin, a kind of extracellular matrix. The saururic acid is separated and purified from the roots of Caururus chinensis Baill. The novel saururic acid can be used for the prevention and treatment of cancer metastasis and inflammation resulted from cell adhesion. Also, its preparation method and a composition comprising the same are also provided. CONSTITUTION: A preparation method of saururic acid from the roots of Caururus chinensis Baill is composed of the following steps of: (a) extracting the roots of Caururus chinensis Baill with organic solvent; and (b) concentrating and purifying the produced extract solution.
