Abstract:
PURPOSE: A composition containing fermented Curcuma aromatica Salisb. extract is provided to remove DPPH radical and ABTS radical and to suppress liver damage. CONSTITUTION: A pharmacetucialc composition for preventing and treating alcoholic liver diseases contains fermented Curcuma aromatica Salisb. extract as an active ingredient. The Curcuma aromatica Salisb. is fermented by Aspergillus sp. fungi at 150°C and 2090% of relative humidity for 1 hour to 1 week. The fermented Curcuma aromatica Salisb. extract is obtained by isolating with water including purified water, methanol, ethanol, or mixture solvent thereof. A health food for preventing and treating alcoholic liver diseases contains the ffermented Curcuma aromatica Salisb. extract as an active ingredient.

PURPOSE: A composition with an activity of protecting brain cells is provided to ensure antioxidative activity and to prevent and treat neurodegenerative brain cells. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating neurodegenerative brain diseases contains acid hydrolytic fraction of Polygalae Radix crude extract as an active ingredient. The crude extract is isolated using water, methanol, ethanol, butanol or mixture solvent thereof. A method for preparing the acid hydrolytic fraction comprises: a step of extracting dried Polygalae Radix with polar solvent by heating, ultrasonic extraction, reflux extraction to obtain Polygalae Radix crude extract; a step of adding hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, diluted sulfuric acid or acetic acid; a step of heating at 50-100°C for 12-48 hours; a step of adding sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, potassium carbonate and sodium hydrogen carbonate; and a step of fractioning the acid hydrolysate solution with ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate and acetone by solvent-solvent distribution.
